    its time

really want to win this for so many reasons, but adding the lastest fact that it will eliminate Spurs from the CL and mostly likely lead to Modric and Bale leaving adds further incentive

just a reminder as I suspect we will have several new or non regular posters stopping by- trolling of any kind or type is not, and will not be, tolerated in this thread or on this board.

Going to Mad Dog for this. Winning this would be like the coolest thing ever, right after the birth of my daughter.

Key to the game is which Drogba comes to play and how he handles the back line. Badstuber is out, but Munich will still have a very solid defensive line in Rafihna, Boateng, probably Tymoschuk, and Lahm. By themselves, very good players, but I don't know how well they'll do together. Tymo has filled in at center back before (midfielder as defender), but Benfica tried this against us and we were able to take advantage. Then again, we may have some midfielders fill-in at center back if Luiz and Cahill aren't healthy.

Bayern's midfield will be very good. All Gomez does is score goals and he'll have Robben, Ribery, and Muller to help him. Munich will have the better players, but we have a decent team.

My German mate Felix (big Bayern fan) has offered me a ticket for the game. Problem is that its in the thick of the Bayern supporters area. Wearing my blues shirt will probably condemn me to some impolite comments plus the fact that the beergarden he inhabits has some strapping big-breasted fraus who wouldn't take kindly to a blue auslander. I'm already imagining a masskrug ( 1 liter beer mug) being slammed down on me tender hand. Ouch ! :D

I am a Buffalo sports fan. I am a Chicago Cubs fan. I am a Notre Dame football fan. None of these teams have won a championship in my lifetime.

I have been lucky enough to see Chelsea win three (!!!) league titles, four FA Cups (including the double), League Cups and Community Shields. But this one would be special; and I mean really special. I've never been to England, let alone the Bridge. But there's something about this club; there's something about this team; there's something about these players. Hell, there's even something about our mysterious owner. Why can't this be our time?

    Come on Chelsea...

I would like to add some faith for those that are needy. A twitter mate posted this blog about the match & how CFC might go after FCB. Its very Blue tinted, but I find it hard to argue against what he has posted. So keep it Blue, keep it real & keep it Chels!!!! Hopefully this time next week we will still be buzzing [IMG]

This will win us the CL we deserve! When we win the CL we must use this year to purchase the great players we need to get us back to winning the prem.

Best not to be too confident or a loss would be harder to take. We have to admit that we are underdogs with our defensive crisis, Bayern's home advantage and the fact that they have a better team than us in any case.

But the fact that the bookies and most everybody else have already written us off means we can go 'Oh well....' if we don't do it and ABSOLUTELY F*CKIN CRAZY if we do :D. Weather forecast for Saturday evening is for about 15 C with a chance of thunderstorms. A wet pitch will be just fine by me. English weather. We like slippery conditions; Robben and Ribery don't .

God I want to win this game soooooo much!

    Considering everyone is healthy:

    Cech
    Bosingwa, Cahill, Luiz, Cole
    Mikel Lampard
    Sturridge Mata Torres
    Drogba

If Cahill and luiz cannot make it:

    Ferrera Bosingwa Essien Cole

If one or the other cannot make it:

    Ferrera Bosingwa ? Cole

We don't know if they have a better team and won't until the final whistle goes. It's nearly impossible to compare leagues and league seasons as we're on our second manager and DVD turned out to be a huge waste of time and valuable points as manager. They finished second in Germany and lost three times to Borussia Dortmund. They're hardly Barcelona. Each team has an equal number of tickets for fans with UEFA taking up the bulk for its glad handing purposes; they're not going to get their normal stadium atmosphere. They may be the bookies favorites, but I guess the book boys didn't learn their lesson last round with Barca.

We have Drogba and they don't. That's what it might come down to. And our defense. Speaking of which, I have to imagine at least one out of the 2 central defenders will be fit. I think Luiz is closer and probably could have played in one of the last 2 league matches, but we held him back. Cahill was injured more recently, but I think it will take a ton of pain and agony to keep those 2 from starting.

That said, if one or both are unavailable, we're talking about some serious chest pains from the opening whistle for Blues fans. blueisthecolor probably had it right if both are missing:

    Ferreira-Bosingwa-Essien-Cole

    If one is missing:

    Bosingwa-Cahill/Luiz-Essien-Cole

Generally speaking, those in the mix for central defense if worse comes to worse: Essien, Bosingwa, Mikel, Hutch, Romeu, Meireles. I'd trust Lampard there, too. Essien played there a little when Jose was in town, though Essien has had a lot of penalty area errors lately. Come to think of it, Drogba is a better option than all of those, but he's needed elsewhere.
