How many handballs were ignored in this match?

Anyway, the rest of the world doesn't care. They see the UEFA rubber stamped highlights, and the Russians, Qatar, Asians don't give a damn.

This is the reason I'm so turned off by club football now. Its obvious all UEFA cares about is $$$money$$.
they just want the big clubs to keep growing bigger because it sells more shirts and TV rights in continents like Asia, Africa, SA, NA.....etc.

Why even bother having other teams compete then??!!
They might as well just mail in the 3 points and save themselves the trip

Siert de Vos is an Atletico fan, really dumb by the broadcaster to chose him for this match.

Off course the fact that you see more and more Dutch people support Spanish or English clubs is in itself annoying, and a worrying sign.

But both de Jong and Perreira had decent chances on crosses and didn't do well enough. On the replay they showed in the US, it wasn't clear whether Godin handled the ball when de Jong was complaining in the 2nd half.

Goebbels would feel proud. UEFA inserts earlier recorded images and footage, and then pretends it is live.

Yeah, and the only thing they showed on the post game show here in the US was the Saul goal and nothing else.

Makes sense. Easy win for Athletico everyone! Oh and the ref is going to appear in a quarter final at least. He was that good.

Have to say PSV should have scored that penalty. Saying the ref made a right decision and has been a good ref is stupid, how the ******** could he not make that decision at that time? Got to build some credibility like a politician saying "I am sorry" just before elections. PSV should still be up 2-1 missing that penalty.

My bet looks like it will be wholesome changes with Mou opting to rotate other players.

You have a point, but at the end of the day the referees were completely against PSV.
I don't see how anyone can deny that.

Just let the big 4 CL teams fight it out at the end of the year.

Yes, I know I sound bitter

Brenet should definitly be considered for the coming NT list, he had a great game. This guy has already a pack of reference games in CL and he has never been called, unfair. Has been playing better than Willems last two seasons with PSV.
Hendrix has been called just because he had three good games in august against mid eredivisie clubs, yesterday he was shit, worst PSV player, showed his limits again.

Yesterday's game was a good proof that combining Luuk with a quick player along can work. I've mentionned trying Luuk with Narsingh a long time ago and Cocu finally did it. That was clearly the PSV plan yesterday : Long ball on Luuk who tries to deviate the ball behind the defenders for Narsingh to run...That almost worked, Narsingh gave problems to the spanish defence with his speed but he lacks quality and isn't strong enough on challenges neither.
    Luuk-Bergwijn can be better.

Luuk-Robben with NT can be lethal but I guess we're happy with Janssen now...

Atletico had a goal unfairly disallowed and PSV got a free penalty. The ref wasn't against PSV, he was just crap

    Sorry, I disagree.

This ref was against PSV from the beginning, and this whole stupid CL tournament is designed to make just the top 8 Euro clubs meet in the QF's. You have to be a complete moron not to see that

  20. Only 2? I reckon it will be the first cancelled hattrick in history:p

Why even bother have fringe clubs play in the CL??
If its not bad enough that they cant afford top players, its the ref that will kill you also.

Might as well not show up. Disgusting!!!

They finally posted some highlights on the ESPN website over here. After seeing both calls involving Narsingh, I think the first one was definitely a penalty and the second one was not (Narsingh trips over the ball and there didn't look like any contact). The broadcaster on the highlights said regarding the second call (the PK), "it looks like referee is making up for the early mistake that should have been a penalty." Regardless, Oblak did a very good job of saving the PK.

What do you think of Luuk-Pereiro ? Pereiro is very dangerous. He has a technical above average.

    Yes, a tremendous save.

I still think PSV deserved more from this game though. But that's football for ya

I only saw the last 35 minutes and it sure looked like PSV were holding their own. Too bad one of those headers didn't go in but Oblak is a very difficult keeper to beat. I don't think Athletico have really talented players other than Griezemann but they are so well coached and play within the system Simione has installed better than any other team in Europe.
