Looking at next season's Europa League. Which teams out of the top 3 do we want (=need) in the EL.
AZ and Vitesse are going to battle in Rotterdam for the direct access in the cup final end of april. I prefer AZ to win, because Vitesse is always uncertain what players come in from Chelsea and it always costs time for the coach to find the right formation because of that. I also expect key players on loan to move on. So my preference is that AZ wins the cup.
I expect FC Utrecht to win the play off for a place in the qualifying round. That's okay with me.

 

Thursday Jesus proved more popular to watch (over 3 million for the Passion in Leeuwarden) than Ajax (1.6 million) on tv.
The real Son of God wins over the blasphemistically self proclaimed "godenzonen".

Something I donot suffer from and if you read my post concerning the match itself you wouldnot make that comment as I'm pleased with the result, predicted it and had the man of the match in my pre match post and also projected the advancement of your team to the next round and hope for it.

Whenever I watched Genk he has been one of the reasons why I enjoy to see them play (L.Bailey and Ndidi before him but now Genk is really firing on all cylinders) ... a shame the Anderlecht - Man Utd game was on ... I knew the Celta - Genk tie would be better but didn't care to watch a lousy stream ... Basel kicking themselves for letting him go ... mind you, when you're looking for Oranje material I feel you should aim higher (if he kicks on, moves to a bigger team maybe then he could add depth).

Daran, dass die am Tatort des BVB-Anschlags gefundenen Bekennerschreiben tatsächlich von Islamisten verfasst wurden, gibt es erhebliche Zweifel. Zu diesem Schluss kommt auch eine von den Ermittlern in Auftrag gegebene Untersuchung.

Drei Tage nach dem Anschlag auf den Mannschaftsbus der Fußballer von Borussia Dortmund (BVB) verfolgen die Ermittler nach eigenen Angaben noch keine heiße Spur. Allerdings wachsen die Zweifel daran, dass drei nach dem Anschlag gefundene Bekennerschreiben tatsächlich von Islamisten verfasst wurden.

Nach Informationen von NDR, WDR und "Süddeutscher Zeitung" untermauert auch eine von den Ermittlern in Auftrag gegebene islamwissenschaftliche Untersuchung, dass "erhebliche Zweifel" daran bestehen, "dass das Papier von radikalen Islamisten verfasst" wurde.

Zwar geben die Autoren der drei textgleichen Schreiben vor, "im Namen Allahs" gehandelt zu haben - und folgen damit der Rechtfertigungsrhetorik islamistischer Attentäter. Sie hätten damit aber vermutlich nur den Eindruck erwecken wollen, die Tat habe einen islamistischen Hintergrund gehabt, heißt es in der Untersuchung.

Twijfels over echtheid opeisingsbrieven Dortmund

vr 14/04/2017 - 21:14 Update: vr 14/04/2017 - 21:58 Pieterjan Huyghebaert Het Openbaar Ministerie in Duitsland twijfelt aan de echtheid van de opeisingsbrieven die in de buurt van de spelersbus van voetbalploeg Borussia Dortmund zijn gevonden. Op drie identieke brieven werd de aanslag in het Duits door moslimfundamentalisten opgeëist, maar dat betwijfelen de onderzoekers. Er zou een nieuwe opeisingsbrief zijn aangekomen bij een Duitse krant die bovendien ook waarschuwt voor een nieuwe aanslag.
Het is nog steeds niet duidelijk wie er achter de bomaanslag op de spelersbus van de Duitse eersteklasser zit. Eerder deze week zijn verschillende bommen afgegaan toen de spelersbus aan het hotel wilde vertrekken in de richting van het stadion om er een wedstrijd tegen Monaco te spelen. Er is daarbij maar een speler gewond geraakt. Die stelt het intussen overigens goed.

In de buurt van de bus zijn toen drie identieke brieven gevonden waarin in het Duits de aanslag werd opgeëist "in naam van allah". Het Openbaar Ministerie twijfelt echter aan de echtheid van de brief. Wat er precies de twijfel veroorzaakt, wil het Openbaar Ministerie echter nog niet zeggen. Maar het wordt wel bevestigd dat het twijfelachtig is dat de brieven effectief van moslimterroristen afkomstig zijn.

Nieuwe opeisingsbrief
Volgens Duitse media zou het te maken hebben met de eisen. In de brieven zou gevraagd worden om onder meer de Duitse bombardementen op IS te stoppen en de Amerikaanse basis in Ramstein te sluiten. "IS onderhandelt niet", zou een van de kritische bemerkingen zijn. Bovendien zouden er in de brief geen IS-symbolen worden gebruikt. Er is bij eerdere aanslagen overigens nog nooit dergelijke brief gevonden.


Het onderzoek naar de dader van de aanslag verloopt niet zo vlot. De verdachte 26-jarige Irakees wordt niet meer verdacht. Hij is wel degelijk een IS-militant, maar heeft niets met deze aanslag te maken. De speurders zoeken het naar verluidt nu meer in extreemlinkse en extreemrechtse kringen.

De Duitse krant Tagesspiegel meldt dat er op hun redactie een nieuwe opeisingsbrief uit extreemrechtse hoek zou zijn aangekomen. Daarin zou gezegd worden dat Dortmund een "laatste waarschuwing" was. Bovendien zou er gedreigd worden met een nieuwe aanslag in Keulen op 22 april. Op die dag is er een congres van de extreemrechtse partij AfD. Er worden die dag ook tegenbetogers verwacht.

I hope that both Anderlecht and Genk plus Ajax get into the last four! It would be great to have 3 of the 4 last teams from the Low Lands. Even greater if it ended in a Dutch vs Belgium contest in the Final. Please make it so.

 

Anderlecht are focussing on the league title (+ direct CL spot) ... Man Utd will win the next game easily ... Genk knocking out Celta would be great (Genk also have to make sure they win their Europa League play-offs in Belgium) ... "play-offs" formula isn't that great for deep runs in Europe.

Uefa would love Man Utd winning it and in doing so giving the EL some relevance ... plus it's a path to the CL ... still, reminds me of that Mourinho interview after Chelsea won the EL ... when he claimed that big clubs should leave this competition to the smaller ones.

Diese seien in Deutschland aber nicht ohne Weiteres zu beschaffen.

Am Dienstagabend waren drei Sprengsätze in der Nähe des Mannschaftsbusses des Fußball-Bundesligisten explodiert, als sich die Spieler auf dem Weg zu der Champions-League-Partie gegen den AS Monaco befanden.
