Tickets for the Champions Cup game against Morelia are priced at $20 (reserved club seats), and $15/$11 (lower west general admission/youth), and are available at the Crew Stadium box office, any TicketMaster outlet, TicketMaster phone at 614-431-3600 or on-line at TheCrew.Com. ----------- Will 137 be open? I'd imagine so....
Deal is that as of right now, 137 is NOT open. From what I understood, things could always change, but very, very, highly unlikely. Don't hold your breath. And since there'll most likely only be a few hundered tickets sold for this game (and general admission at that), it's possible we could all congregate by a corner (section 131 or 120/121) and turn that into a standing section for a night.
I suppose we're also chartering a few dozen flights out of Morelia to help bring their fans here as well. Is it just me, or has the Crew/USSF done absolutely nothing to help provide a reasonable home field atmosphere for this game?
The $15 ticket to sit anywhere on the west side except the club seats is nice as is Buck-a-Brat. But as far as getting the word out, not really. Attendance is just not a priority to the Crew in this tournament. They may think it takes too much away from MLS matches. I plan on being there and wouldn't mind sitting with V-Army on the west side and chanting with you guys. But I don't think you would have to go off in the corner. The people that WILL be there will be your kind of people. Why get a bad view when you could get close to midfield on the west side and not have to worry about what Sally Soccermom says. If it's a warm night, I guess I would expect about the 2,000 that showed up for the US Open Cup game against the Wizards. Bunched up together that could be a very good crowd. Plus maybe a 100 to 200 Mexican soccer fans will show.
Something like this: It's a concacaf run event (CCC), so it's "their job to promote it", so the Crew does not want to. It'll also take away from the regular season. Crew ticket guy - "Come see the Crew play against a team from Mexico." Crew fan - "So it's an exhibition?" ticket guy - "not quite..." Plus, your average Crew fan would probably have a hard time understanding the premise of the tournament. They'll sell you a ticket, but they don't want to actively promote the game.
Is there a section yet where most V-Army will be? I'd like to try and get tickets, but I want to make sure to be near some people who are allowed to stand and cheer for their team...
Well this guy will have to stay in Indiana because of a stupid Sr. Design test the following day. The late kickoff just makes my return way too late to sleep & study before classes.
My thoughts on this matter have been posted already, i'll contact someone and see what can be done. Any idea of a discount seems so far-fetched I won't even ask about it. Tickets will be $11 for people under 18 or college students with valid ID or $15 for everyone else. 7 PM kickoff is too late? I guess if it's for a Sr. Design test, then yeah..
takes about 4 hours to drive there... so I would have to leave by 2:30pm to make sure I didn't get there late. Then 2 hour game... so get out at 9, then another 4 hours back, puts me in my room at 1am. Probably would be really tired, and have yet to study for a big exam... just won't work. I hate you school! So glad I graduate in May with my BS and start working.
well diablo beat me...damn... kaiser, remember we are an hour different now out here in wintry indiana.... 3stripe and i are leaving at noon or one and gonna get some dinner than hit teh stadium, we'll probably drive back that night...drop me a line if you want the back seat to study...i'll even turn my music just to the front speakers for ya...
I'll have to think it over... see how things are closer to the test before I make a decision. Thanks for the offer.
If you don't have a file for this test, you're slacking. If it is the class offered by Gibson/Brackin/et al., study the exams from the last 2-3 years and you'll do fine.
since when have I NOT been a slacker? jesus man... I procrastinate like none other. Dr. Brackin has now resorted to handing us our A's. I think she realized nobody wants to have to care anymore, so she gives us these attendance "quizes" and then tells us the answers. She just started going thru our homeworks prior to their due date, step by step. Last test, she gave us an old test, had a "review" session in which she showed us how to solve it, and then the test was almost the same exact thing. I'll see if I can get her to give us this review session on Tuesday instead so I can make it on Wednesday.
also....on the seating arrangement... if it's all first come/first serve, then let's get to the midfield line....it'd be nice to have a good view for once.
help me out here. regardless of who's event it is, why would the club not want to promote it? sure, it's not an MLS match; so MLS money won't go to it; but surely the club has at least a slight degree of independence from the league. are all MLS clubs OWNED by the league? i know that players' contracts are all tied to the league; but is every columbus crew dollar an MLS dollar, as well? does the club have literally NO autonomy to put a few bucks into promoting a non-MLS match? i'm not just trying to make a point, btw, i'm seriously asking.
I don't think that's an option because club seats are at midfield, right? Perhaps the first non club seat section behind the Crew bench would be a good target.
