Good win, needed win for Servette. 1 March Chiasso - Lugano Wohlen - Winterthur Schaffhausen - Vaduz 2 March Biel - Servette Locarno - Wil For Servette, the path is clear, they need 3 points in just about every match that remains. Schaffhausen v Vaduz is huge.
If Vaduz keep the same points/match ratio (2.2?), they will be champions, even if SFC win all its matches. Hence the point withdrawn by the league has a huge importance, alongside the goal difference whihc is not great for SFC. So a mountain to climb..... just hoping that Vaduz slips in the slope..... (and Schaffouse???)
1 March Chiasso - Lugano 2-1 Wohlen - Winterthur 1-0 Schaffhausen - Vaduz 0-2 2 March Biel - Servette Locarno - Wil The bottom of the table is getting very interesting.
Servette Win 3-0 in Bienne. Will 5-1. Seems that the individual performances were really better. Continuous improvement? As previously said let's see whether it will be sustainable development!
Here is where we sit; Vaduz 52 Schaffhausen 46 Servette 41 Wil 40* Winterthur 32 Lugano 32* Biel 23* Chiasso 16 Locarno 15* Wohlen 13** * is game in hand. ** is two games in hand. There is a definite break between the top 4 and the remaining 6.
8 March Lugano - Biel Wil - Wohlen 9 March Vaduz - Chiasso Servette - Locarno 10 March Winterthur - Schaffhausen
8 March Lugano - Biel 4-4 Wil - Wohlen 3-1 9 March Vaduz - Chiasso 5-2 Servette - Locarno 1-0 10 March Winterthur - Schaffhausen
Salut. A third win in a row. Not a great win against a team in the bottom. 1-0, minimum. Well it is three points. The young Dominguez and Rodrigues played well again. It seems that as the team will not be promoted this year, the president and the staff have decided to start to build next year's team. So still major players stuck in the tribunes: Pasche being the most prominent. The policy is clear: you are on board for next year' project (i.e. we are still in CL and you stay with us) or you are not. If not, well you do not play any more.
10 March Winterthur - Schaffhausen 1-1 Schaffhausen looses ground to Vaduz. Vaduz 55 Schaffhausen 47 Servette 44 Wil 43 * Winterthur 33 Lugano 33 * Biel 24 * Chiasso 16 Locarno 15 * Wohlen 12 **
Biel - Wohlen 2-1 Lugano - Wil 1-4 Vaduz 55 Schaffhausen 47 Wil 46 Servette 44 Winterthur 33 Lugano 33 Biel 27 Chiasso 16 Locarno 15 * Wohlen 13*
15 March Locarno - Chiasso 1-4 Wohlen - Schaffhausen 1-0 16 March Biel - Wil Winterthur - Vaduz 17 March Lugano - Servette
16 March Biel - Wil 1-1 Winterthur - Vaduz 3-1 17 March Lugano - Servette Strange weekend that could see Servette back to a tie with 2nd place with a win. Vaduz 55 Wil 47 Schaffhausen 47 Servette 44* Winterthur 36 Lugano 33* Biel 28 Chiasso 19 Wohlen 16* Locarno 15*
Guess what? Servette lost 2-0 in Lugano after a terrible no-match. I understand only one shoot on target... The end of the season is going to be long, very longggggggggggggg.
Servette has to reduce the squad and improve the structures of the club until the end of the season/summer in order to be able to attack next season. Currently, they are just not ready for the Superleague, i.e. to maintain themselves in Superleague if they would get promoted... Vaduz is struggling again after having lost at Winterthur - they have equalized twice today. 2-2 with 15mins to play
Are contracts guaranteed in Switzerland? What I mean by this, in some leagues, if a team wants to unload players during the season, they still have to pay them. Not that this would be nice, but it might allow players that SErvette is not going to use to be released from their contracts. 22 March Vaduz - Wil 2-2 Locarno - Biel 1-1 23 March Schaffhausen - Lugano Servette - Winterthur 24 March Chiasso - Wohlen
A lot of the contracts are ending this season. And the club have several options on loaned players. So the name of the game is to decide who to propose a new contract and who to say bye bye. The current issue is that currently several players are banned without clear and obvious reasons, while some with poor performances on the pitch are kept on the team sheet. And as usual it looks like players recruited by Zubi get the preferred treatment... Even if they are crap. Well let's see. This season's end gonna be boring. Next year will be weird. Promotion within two years? It is likely that Lausanne will be down in CL at the end of the season. Next year's derbies will be bloody: only one team can go up. So at least during the next season we wiLl have some fun four times
in a normal working environment, an employee can be released on a two months notices if he has worked for a company between 1 and 10 years or with a 1 month notice if an employee is employed since less than a year. But in football, it is a bit different as the players have temporary limited contracts. So, the players have their contracts guaranteed until the end of the contract. On the other hands, players can resign their contracts before the end of the term with a 1month/2months notice
Thanks for the clarification. 22 March Vaduz - Wil 2-2 Locarno - Biel 1-1 23 March Schaffhausen - Lugano 0-1 Servette - Winterthur 0-0 24 March Chiasso - Wohlen Servette with two goals called back, both should have counted. Maybe it is better that Servette lost last week and drew this week. It keeps me less frustrated because of the poor way that Vaduz/Schaffhausen/Wil have played the last week. Vaduz 56 Wil 48 Schaffhausen 47 Servette 45 Lugano 39 Winterthur 37 Biel 29 Chiasso 19* Wohlen 16 ** Locarno 16*
24 March Chiasso - Wohlen 0-0 Vaduz 56 Wil 48 Schaffhausen 47 Servette 45 Lugano 39 Winterthur 37 Biel 29 Chiasso 20 Wohlen 17 * Locarno 16*
29 March Lugano - Locarno Winterthur - Chiasso 30 March Vaduz - Biel Servette - Wohlen 31 March Wil - Schaffhausen

By the way... Servette has recruited a new CEO. Julian Jenkins who is/was the Marketing Director of Cardiff FC. Well, they do not have cash to recruit players, but they have cash to create a big Mexican army... To have an idea of the guy: http://bradleyprojects.com/blog.php?id=22
