Although I responded on the riptide thing, I would just like to post on here too. Athough LA leaving is not good for the league it will not change anything about the Army. Although it does make my game used STL/LA game ball more special in my eyes. We are stepping it up this year because I feel like we can. It has been my mission since the day the season ended to make year 2 better than year 1. How? Things like 1) just set up a youtube account and am vowing to take more videos, 2) bought more drums to bring our number up to 2 snares and 3 toms with a big bass and puffys bass, 3) Shirts will be ordered soon. I'm still waiting on some more sizes so I have a clue as to the size ratio, 4) set up a ticket deal with the team to help us get revenue 5) Mohawk and I are actually conditioning for this season to be more "game fit", 6) We are travelling more this year with plans to Chicago (hopefully twice) and to Atlanta, and 7) Look for some busses to certain games sponsered by Laclede's Army and Amsterdam tavern to let us arrive in style. All this before LA folded... what more do they want??
I realize that we have always been noisy and showed strong support, especially Rokagrl who has been organizing and working her butt off for over a year. Rabblerouser and s***disturber that girl! And we love her for that! It's just a reminder that while we all cheer for different teams, we are in this together from a standpoint of supporting the league. The more of us there are, no matter what team we are supporting, the better we will be at getting our message across. Sometimes, the people with money seem to be hard of hearing. And in really great news, I see that on the Big Soccer store, that they list an XXL in the 2010 Athletica jersey that will be available in April. One more way I can support the league and PUMA.
1) I rock, thank you. 2) I cannot wait to see you in a womens jersey... the anticipation is killing me!
Just waiting for MLS and WPS season schedules to come out to figure out which games I'll be able to make it up to STL for. I know several other Inferno members have mentioned making it up for a game as well.
I take it Inferno is the supporters group for the Dallas Sidekicks? Do you remember Tatu? He was really exciting and very good along with Preki and Steve Zungul in the MISL or whatever the hell they called it back then. So Inferno is the supporter's group for FC Dallas right? At least with Sidekicks you had a NAME!!
And I thought we were friends Dana???? Hopefully the schedule brings us a Revs/Burn ; Breakers/Athletica weekend this year.....I really want to see the Inferno members that root against the Breakers in the Dock!!!
Enough of the smack talk from you, grasshopper. I went to more WPS games last season than you did. STL is a 10.5 hour drive from my appt in Ft Worth, TX. The Inferno is the supporters group for FC Dallas. We had a group of 8 people road trip up from DFW for the first game in STL last season vs Chicago. I got friends in St. Lou too, Mikey.
It's ok. After all, you guys were kind enough to cough up our first trophy in your home stadium a few years back.. We'll always have a soft spot for ya'll in Dallas!
