The Reserves rollout the 2003 season in the first of 4 USOC Qualifiers against Heartland rival the DesMoines Menace. Saturday May 9, 7:30PM in DesMoines.

Maybe the weather will better in DesMoines than it was in Dayton the past two season openings.

  2. I missed this message somehow. Don't we have the USOC qualifying schedule from hell? On the road at Des Moines, who have lost like a total of 4 games the last two seasons followed by another road match against always strong Sioux Falls. The only breather comes at home against newbys St. Louis. In the unlikely event we still have a shot at qualifying, we host last year's PDL finalist Boulder Rapids Reserve (Nate Jaqua's old side) in Watseka at the same time the FIRE play the Rapids in Naperville (Who makes the CFR schedule?). After playing us, both Des Moines & Boulder play St. Louis & perennial bottom feeders Kansas City Brass & Wisconsin. Mid Michigan plays qualifiers against two first year clubs and West Michigan qualifies against three first year clubs (Who makes the PDL schedule and how much money was in those envelopes they got?).

Hey Mike, when do we get to see a roster?

ooops, can't keep my weekend days straight. I wouldn't minimize the St. Louis team, sounds like
they know what their doing and will have a good team.

PDL schedule is crafted in the late fall in advance of the MLS schedule release, it's difficult to coordinate. We usually have one or two confilicts every season.

We've played some good games against the Menace, our guys usually step up to the challenge. We were one of the teams that didn't lose to them early on, and shut them out when they were scoring goals like water.

It is interesting how the Central was divided. We had a pretty good overall record against the Bucks. It won't be easy, I hear West Michigan has recruited well and Ian was a key piece of DesMoines success last year.

  6. I can't imagine a suckier way to start your season than with an own goal 2 minutes in. No Denny Clanton yet. Finishing up finals?
