    I had to.

    It's cathartic.

    Carry on.

Given the inevitable, and you could only pick between these two...

    Gourcuff or Arteta?

HAHAH. Gourcuff in a heartbeat if it was just between those two.

Looks like Barca won't meet the 50 million pricetag.

Oh I fully believe Cesc will be back, and I think he knows he will, which is what makes this all the more frustrating that this went public.

Footballers = whores hence the title.

    From your lips...

The transfer thread always ends up being a catch-all and I didn't see this posted elsewhere so have at it:

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/19/premier-league-finances

It should give some insight as to the teams that might be players come summer. FWIW, I predict that we'll do battle with the likes of Spurs for players this summer.

Loved Cesc even when he was sporting a mullet. Would follow his career if he left us with interest but not with the love in my heart that I have for him now. Enjoy the players while we have them, worship the club always. Arsenal FC forever!

if those numbers are accurate, our wage bill is fucced up.
we won't go to 100K, yet are up there with the big boys (total wages) because we pay part timers decent wages. explain that philosophy to me again?

Quantity over quality. It's Wenger's underlying belief that if he buys four 5 million pound 12 year-olds he is more likely to get a good return than if he buys one 20 million pound 28 year-old.

As the dust settles the move to Barca doesn't really make sense for him and I can see him waiting it out too but sell him so we can move on.

thus, we get spares like denilson actually wearing the shirt on gamedays.
that shit needs to be looked at internally, imo.

I'd grab Gourcuff faster than fat Oprah grabs a burrito.

Love the better size and the kid is the same age. Plus, he'd have existing chemistry with Chamakh. Arteta is just an Oswald for the real shot - Gourcuff. Of course, they might not like us right now...

And Wenger is too loyal. He buys 4 guys expecting to cull it down to the one good one and then can't cut anyone loose. He used to trust his scouts and buy the single best guy for the position he needed.

I don't recall him buying a few strikers when he got Henry or did he and I am forgetting it?

It's sports ffs. Eduardo plays for Croatia, but he's clearly Brazilian. The same goes for Senna of Spain and Deco of Portugal. Sagna is Senegalese but plays for France. Trezeguet couldn't even speak French when he joined the French national team. The list is very long...

To suggest that a player is of one nationality due to him picking one country's sports team over another is silly. It's not like these players could have decided to play for both, so they have to choose one. That choice is made for many reasons. Sometimes, its for sporting reasons..you know...it's a sport after all!! Sometimes its a choice of heritage vs. place of birth. There are many reasons. Choosing one over the other doesn't mean that you identify with one country over the other. Ask Eduardo, and he'll tell you that he's Brazilian. It's okay to identify with two countries. I don't get why you're making it a one country or the other scenario anyway.

I think people are upset because Rossi is actually, you know, world class. Why aren't people upset with Joseph not playing for the US? the kid from the Revolution?

Ehh it has nothing to do with transfers. I agree with your stance for the most part.

Sagna was born in France. For guys like Eduardo, Senna, and Deco they didn't have the chance to play for Brazil(I don't think) so I don't blame them for taking the opportunity to play internationally with another country that they had moved to since they couldn't with the country they were from.

Edit: I am cutting out the part about Rossi so people will just move on past it and it won't get carried on in this new thread.

So I haven't heard any new goalkeeper rumors in the last day or so, did we finally run out of new names to pop up or did I miss the 22nd goalkeeper we might pick up?

Edu never had a chance for Brazil until he was about to get his British passport and switch to England, but then all of a sudden Brazil caps him several times. Have you thought they might want the chance to play in Europe for career reasons?

I swear this is going over your head like oil on a duck.
