Leagues don't "give" a spot to the cup winners. It's an uefa rule ,it's not like they have a choice. In fact cupwinners have the highest priority over all other teams that qualify for uefa cup.

Yeah, but Champions League is not the same as Uefa Cup. Nobody cares about it since Champions League was expanded and basically took most of the best teams out of Uefa Cup. Whatever.

European championships are basically a playoff system.

So why not send the best playoff team?

Liverpool haven't won the league in years, but we've done more than other English teams in the Champs League recently.

Can a mod change the title?

Lubahn is a 91 for anyone that was wondering. Don't think it was explicitly stated in the thread.

Great news that our 2011 U-20's already have had 2 guys go pro recently.

I didn't realize Lubahn already was EU eligible.

Which is probably why he was selected by the Friedel's folks.

    Maybe because it's fun?

Traditional single-table can lead to some pretty lame, anticlimactic endings - championship decided weeks before the end of the season, championship decided by games against teams with nothing left to play for, or a team winning the championship while losing that day's game.

Yesterday, Patrick Lane played the full 90 minutes with the reserves of Cercle. They've beaten SC Lokeren with 4-3. Andy Lubahn also played the full game and scored 2 goals!
