    3-1!!!!!!!!

    Bordon (s/o)
    Kuranyi (26)
    Lambert (36)
    Maloney (45)
    Petrov (67)

Stuttgart are missing two of their starters tonight in the second leg through suspension, we should have Hartson back, although I think Maloney has done enough to keep his place, a very opertunistic goal and he gave the defence problems all night long, was just beaten to man of the match by a superb Paul Lambert.
Its looking good for next week.

A great game that should be enough to get the team into the next round, as long as they've learned their lessons from Basle.

It would have been nice to get another goal or two, but I can understand being satisfied with the two goal lead. They certainly had Stuttgart on the back foot for most of the second half, so it was a bit frustrating not to see Celtic try a bit harder for goal.

Great job and I can't wait until next week's match.

Excellent! I was stuck with Fox Sports World's pick of Liverpool - Auxerre, a rather turgid affair. But kept up with the uefa.com match tracker. We get Wisla - Lazio for next week.

Good to see Maloney get his due. The Annanova/F365 match reports have him as Mahoney, the nitwits. They'll learn better once we thrash Liverpool in the Quarters. :)

    Collina is God!

I think this tie is still a bit iffy for Celtic, since Stuttgart were the better team before the player was sent off. They could be a much better, attack-minded team at home than last night. After they scored the away goal, they hardly went into the Celtic half for the rest of the game.

On the other hand, the suspensions weaken them, and Celtic do have a lead.

One away goal will do nicely for us. Stuttgart have a tall order ahead of them. Like John said, we just have to avoid Basel Syndrome.

Yeah, FSW only showed the Liverpool game unfortunately, and it certainly wasn't a good game. I saw the highlights of the Celtic game on the FSW Report last night and really wished I could have seen it.

The tie isnt over yet but the scales do lean in our favour, like I said with Blackburn and Vigo, if we can score over there were through, and we can score over there, I would rate stuttgart better than blackburn but not as good as vigo personally.
I saw liverpools match as well.....I'm not unconifdent we could do a number on them if we get to the quarter finals.

Well, it didn't turn out to be the rout we thought it might but the Bhoys are comfortably through.

    Stuttgart 3 - 2 Celtic (4-5 Agg.)
    83' Tiffert
    75' Gleb
    87' Mutzel
    13' Thompson
    16' Sutton

Liverpool and Auxerre are currently deadlocked at nil after 25'. What a scintillating tie that one is. Ooh. Hold me back.

    celtic through

celtic scrapped through despite losing 3-2 in germany. but to be honest despiet that i`m a rangers fan, stuttgart lost the contest during the first leg, they were playing brilliant when they were reduced to 10 men. i some how think celtic would not have won the match if it wasn`t for the send off. still congs to celtic.

Mon should know by now that when you have a team on the ropes you dont camp out on youre goal line for 45 minutes, i was disappointed we didnt go on and hammer stuttgart because we could have and the score is in no way representative of the way we actually controlled the match.......that said............YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA BEAUTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!

My big worry now is that MO'N will try to play "Houllier's Game," and work for the one or two goals and then defend. Everything we've seen about this team shows us that they are at their best when they pin their ears back and really go at the other guys. That's how we control the game and the tempo. We cannot beat Liverpool in a defensive struggle by anything short of pure luck. They are too good and that would be playing to their strengths.

Come on Bhoys, get stuck in!

In a defensive struggle with liverpool I could see penalties after two mind numbing nil-nil draws.
thankfully I think we will have a go and we score a lot of goals, if we can get two or three in glasgow it might just be a case of not giving anything away.
Hope liverpool have a crap night ;)
