In case you've been under a rock. Henrik broke his jaw in two places in the 17th minute against Livi. So, Maloney in as striker alongside Hartson? Keep Sutton in the attacking midfield? What's the lineup going to be against Stuttgart? They are on fire right now with a four-game leage winning streak going on.
They'll probably play Hartson and Sutton with Maloney as sub. Hartson didn't play yesterday as there was (allegedly) an argument between Hartson and O'Neill after Hartson was subbed on Thursday.
Disaster ahead of the UEFA Cup clash. The game against Aberdeen showed Celtic without Larsson is impotent up front.
To make matters worse, Henke's out of the next Auld Firm match; http://u.tv/newsroom/indepth.asp?id=9794&pt=s
Forget that. Stick Maloney in there with Sutton and park Hartson's extra wide butt on the bench. Seriously, Maloney has proved he has the ability. Now the opportunity is there, give it to him. Especially given O'Neill's contract situation. What does he have to be worried about, getting fired? Not likely. In fact, give Crainey, Healy and Smith a chance, too. Giving the youth a chance is not throwing in the towel. They've shown they can play.
I agree with the exception of Hartson. He's scoring goals by the bucketful. The First Rule of Sports: Never Phuk With A Streak.
Hartson is banned for the first leg against stuttgart I think anyway so it has to be Maloney and Sutton up front. I've been a big fan of the wee bhoy since he made his debut in that 3-0 drubbing of the huns at greyskull and set up a goal, in my eyes hes the only striker at the club remotely creative enough to even try and fill larssons role and its about time he got a solid run of games.
