"Yet the slight sense of disappointment that enveloped the crowd at the start of the game turned to one of relief when Adu took the field to start the second half, his presence eliciting cheers and scattered standing ovations from the crowd, which included such celebrities as Robert Duvall, Will Ferrell and Mischa Barton." This was in the LA Times article on the DC game. Can anybody confirm, or did anyone else hear about this? Dude, Duvall showed up? Sweet. . .
I've read somewhere that Robert Duvall is a Boca Juniors fan. Rather homely, but I suppose I wouldn't kick her out of bed.
Re: Footy Movie You might be thinking of that stupid Stallone football movie from the 80s. A Shot at Glory took place in Scotland in modern time.
Re: Footy Movie You are referring to the Stallone movie Victory which also "starred" Pele and Michael Cain......
The final match is played against Rangers when Reyna was there. I saw the movie a few months ago, but didn't notice Reyna, but I wasn't looking for him.
probably because his girlfriend is argentinian. She taught him how to dance Tango (I saw Duvall on Conna O'brien where he talked of this).
There was a room for "celebrities only" set up underneath the stadium for the celebs to meet Freddy personally. Will Farrell was underneath the stadium afterwards.
If Kevin Costner is An arsenal fan, then why isn't he sighted at MLS games? He probably just doesn't care about the MLS growth. P.S. Speaking of Celebs, Grant Hill had a Cosmos shirt on during some match and was a soccer player in hgih school as well as a bball player.
Shot at Glory I bought mine used at a Blockbuster for $10. I wouldn't pay much more than that for it.
The day it becomes cool to be seen at a Galaxy match is the day I start supporting an A-League team. Can't Hellywood just stay at Staples and let the people have their game?
