They had four buckets of eight teams each and UEFA chose one team from each bucket to put in the group. You'd end up with eight groups of five teams. Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal Matchup Predictions. another impossible result, Marathon and UNAM are 1st-place teams, Montreal and Cruz Azul 2nd-place teams. the first-place teams (UNAM, Atlante, Santos, and Marathon) will be drawn against the second-place teams. And you can't be drawn against a team from your previous group. So Houston can only be drawn against Santos, Atlante or Marathon.

Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal Matchup Predictions. oh OK. i know the answer, for the quarterfinals in February all Pot B teams (Dynamo) host the first leg. rewards Pot A team for winning the group by letting them host the 2nd leg.

Atlante is the most desiarable opponent and not because of the scantily clad women and the sandy beaches.

Re: CONCACAF Quarterfinal Matchup Predictions. Can't happen. Marathon and Cruz Azul were in the same group. They cannot face each other in the quarterfinals. Two Mexican teams will have to play each other in the quarters. Specifically, Cruz Azul has to play either Atlante, Pumas, or Santos. Marathon is guaranteed to play Houston, Montreal, or Puerto Rico in the quarters.
