When: Wednesday 5/1. Kickoff 10:15pm EST Where: Down there The game: 2-1 aggregate advantage to the good guys being taken across the border. This is the biggest 90 minutes in Columbus Crew history. Nancy knows it, the team knows it, and it feels great to be excited about this game and not dreading the performance we might see. Theres no doubt the type of soccer that Columbus is going to try to play down there from the kickoff. Its been apparent for a long time that there is no French translation for "park the bus." Go win this game, and then lets win the whole thing and take on the world.
Free tickets for the watch party at the stadium Condado. There's also a watch party at Endeavor. FS1 and TUDN have the game.
Columbus Crew at CF Monterrey Estadio BBVA, Guadalupe, México Wednesday, 10:15 ET TV: FS1 (English), TUDN (Spanish) Radio: 105.7 FM/iHeart (English), 102.5 FM (Spanish) Time for some #ConcacafAfterDark for a spot in the continental final. We're Donny G's only hope and he's so sick about it that he took time over the weekend to call New England's supporters the best in the world (this part isn't a joke). The best fans in the world. Congrats to @NERevolution on the biggest crowd in club history! pic.twitter.com/oIhlNHXmSi— Don Garber (@thesoccerdon) April 28, 2024 The Rayados spent two weeks mocking their crosstown rival Tigres for two draws and a PK loss to the Crew. Their coach and players considered this series a formality because MLS. Then they got their ass kicked last week. No more laughing or shaking hands. The away goal looms large, but the Crew enter with the advantage. Gary reject Brandon Vasquez is listed as probable despite a severe case of Nancyball PTSD slash a bruised cervix. Vamos!
Paging @TKyle to delete my other thread or merge here because my page didn't update to see 96er already had it.
Moved posts. The first post posted becomes the first post in the merged thread. Props for your Spanish title. The poll is associated with the first post, so folks will need to re-vote—if the poll stays as-is. Edit: @96er — do you want the poll to be the outcome of the aggregate, or just the result of the away leg? If you want the poll to be edited or changed, let me know.
Based on that graphic, we can tie Monterrey and advance. For example, if the match ends 2-2 we advance on aggregate, no extra time or pk's, right? Why is a tie not an option for the Grouchy Points? There are also score scenarios for us to lose by one(example: 3-2), and advance.
That is a disgrace. Foxboro is usually more than 2/3 empty, but all those New England area soccer lovers show up in pink to cheer for Messi, and now they are "the best fans in the world". Another classic dong arbor moment! He is simply unbelievable.
I'm not stopping anyone from ragging on the revs, but they draw pretty well compared to Chicago who continuously try to get me to buy tickets to games played at soldier field that may or may not involve the Chicago Fire. One ticket package for 3 games only contains one Chicago Fire game in it. Their game vs the Crew is a big promotion with Cucho front and center. Kansas City drew huge numbers at Arrowhead too. Hope some of that gate revenue is going back to the league as a whole.
A few years ago, NBC did some EPL FanFest in New England with the "Men in Blazers" guys, their EPL team, etc. I'm sure a lot of people traveled from all over the area, but it was amazing to see the crowds that came out. It's sad that they're still stuck in MLS 1.0.
Let’s hope we don’t play Messi at the horseshoe being a midweek away game in October it’s a 50/50 chance he doesn’t even show up in Columbus
Yea, NE had very solid attendance last season. They averaged 23,940 which was actually about 800 higher than Portland last season and was good for 8th in the league. They announced 30k+ crowds four different times, with their highest attendance being 41k. Pretty solid, especially considering the horrible location of their stadium.
Yeah, you're not alone. I'll be checking the final score during one of my old-man, middle of the night wakeful periods.
If Cucho can track back defensively in the 91' to stop a Monterrey attack, surely you can power through the final 30 minutes. As a wise man once said, impossible is an opinion.
