    hey everyone!

i have seen games between mexican teams and u.s teams and other teams and i believe that mls players have potential, but mls (american coaches) are awful.

They just dont know futbol, america is not a futbol country so they dont know how the game should be played correctly and this was proven many times and now by this kc team. Their tactics are all wrong.

    No?

    Uh-oh.

Well, KC didn't send their first team... yeah, that's it.

Anything else besides the goals? Did Meola or a defender get red carded? I can't believe that KC's defense gave up six goals in a little more than a half of an hour.

remember that morelia was undefeated at copa libertadores (and if not mistaken scored the most goals) they are a top side who is a contender for the mexican title.

Morelia is just SUPERIOR to a low quality mls team like KC, sorry folks.

Believe it. Garcia got a red in extra time after he had been kicked in the leg by a Morelia player. Sounds like the refereeing might be a little suspect. But that still doesn't explain 6 straight goals by the Monarchs. Very poor show by KC, I'm afraid.

Sometimes, it happens, and there isn't much of an explination.

KC just got srcuhed. 6-1. Yikes.

Let's hope they don't win MLS Cup now.

Well, at least Don F.C's a little more cordial now. Still a troll, though...

mls coaches are awful??? i don't know what you're talking about, but everyones knows that the main reason that the US beat mexico in the wc was because bruce arena out-coached the mexican coach. he's better than an coach in mexico. and he's not the only one: bob bradley, sigi shmid, and frank yallop are just as good as most coaches. they obviously are not the best, but they are defienetly good coaches.

I wrote to the Mercury News today telling them that they shouldn't print articles on the Mexican teams because the US has a better product......

I hope they don't see this result. Or know what it means...

    Amen.

But without having seen the game and or read a decently objective match report, it's hard to come to a firm conclusion.

    But still...

Well... gotta hand it to Monarcas. One can complain about the refs in a 1-goal loss or even a 2-goal loss. When the score's 6-0 at any point in the game, there's no one to blame but yourselves...

Also - no MLS team should lose 6-1 to anyone in the world. Sounds like the Wizards just didn't show up to play.

************ happens. It sucks, but that's soccer. 0-0 at the half, then a Morelia goal is called back at the 47th minute. I guess that was the shot across the bow.

It just sounds like a good old fashioned butt whooping.

And for those that want to call this a disgrace and embarrasment to MLS, and how KC let everyone down. The Wizards scored one goal more than any other MLS side in the FC semifinals. You got to be in it to win it. You also got to be in it to get your ass handed back to you. It works both ways.

This should make Saturday's game in DC a bit more interesting.

That must have been some halftime speech the Morelia coach gave!

    Really pathetic.

And the Morelia coach pulled two of the goal scorers after the third goal. And they still got three more! Did the KC defense stay in the locker room after the halftime period?

    Wow.

A Billy Walsh and John Wolyniec led Fire team did better in Morelia than this Wizards team.

And to anyone who shorts MLS teams or players or coaches, the Fire very nearly pulled their series out despite missing half their lineup, and kicked Monarcas' booty in Chicago.

What's the over/under on attendance for the return leg now? 10?

God I hate Home/Home playoff formats. Can you imagine if this ever happened in MLS? It happens ALL the time all over the world, and you end up with crowds of around 5k in the Bernabau and places like that.

Well I followed the game on matchtracker.

From the match report, Quill was taken off
on a stetcher and then on a CART early in
the game, but no mention of a card or foul
    to the offending player.

Does anyone know how serious his injury
    is?

It sounds like the KC defense held in the
1st half with even a few good chance for KC,
and then completely broke down in the 2nd.
Several mentions were made of Burns getting
    burned down the flank.

Late in the game Nick Garcia got kicked, and then
got the red card when a schuffle broke out.

Was anyone there? That can comment on Quill's
    injury.

  25. I saw the game on Mexican television. Although there were two terrible offsides called by the officials KC was an utter disgrace. The defense provided no support for Meola who had to stop shot after shot. It starts to get pretty bad when your backs are beaten by longballs over the tops of their heads. Carey Talley and Mike Burns were a complete farce. I still like Nick Garcia, but I can see why his potential national team contributions may be in doubt. Of course, lets not leave the offense out of this fiasco ,either. From start to finish they looked disinterested and had no desire to be there or win the game.
