Steve with a shot on goal. Lehmann hält den leicht abgefälschten Schuss von Cherundolo aus 16 Metern Entfernung sicher.
Absolute scandal game with Referee Albrecht being MOTM for Dortmund. First, a ball flying against Diouf's shoulder was rewarded with a pk for Dortmund. Later on a cross by Cherundolo was intentionally and obviously stopped with the hand in the box - no call, counter attack to the 0-2 instead. Diouf's ejection was okay, though basically it was the same scene Kahn just was booked for in Leverkusen one week ago (as I said last week... a field player is immediately ejected if he's grabbing his opponents' neck). Also Stefulj must have been sent off later on. The game in general: Dortmund was better at the beginning, but then only Hannover was playing. The result is a joke and absolutely not deserved. Except the handball scene Cherundolo did not appear in the report (though... he was attacking the ref assistant because of it ) and I also didn't know that Casey was playing.
Additional info for the Canadiens: de Guzman had his first game in the starting lineup. He had Hannover's first chance, but later on I didn't see him again.
Congrats to Casey on his bundesliga debut (even if it was uneventful). IIRC, a year or two ago puskas was willing to bet anyone on these boards an extraordinary sum that Casey would never see BL action before Donovan.
Thanks for reminding us of that ridiculous bet. Since the BS server had crashed a couple of months ago, is there still a way to track down Puskas to make him pay up?
Thanks for the info. I didn't see the match, but apparently kicker.de rated Julian's performance as the highest amongst the Hannover players, which is a nice sign (even if the result is not).
Yes, but doesn't kicker's rankings work the other way round (out of 6, the closer you are to 1 the better)? I've not looked at the ratings myself, just been told that was the case.
That's true, the lower the better. Cherundolo almost always gets a 3 or 4. (high of 4.5, low of 3 average3.6) Whereas Sanneh may get a 2 or a 6, you never know what to expect. (high of 6 low of 2.5, average 3.9).
