TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR V CHELSEA CARABAO CUP 4TH ROUND TUESDAY 29 SEPTEMBER TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR STADIUM KICK-OFF: 7.45PM GMT Apologies for the tardiness of this thread, fixture congestion is a real bitch. THFC Injuries - Gareth Bale (out, knee) - Heung-Min Son (out, thigh) - Japhet Tangana (out, thigh) - Moussa SIssoko (50%, illness) Chelsea Injuries - Billy GIlmour (out, knee) - Christian Pulisic (25%, thigh) - Hakim Ziyech (25%, knee) - Marco van Ginkel (out, knee) - Edouard Mendy (match fitness)* Form (all matches) THFC - DWWWL Chelsea - DWLW Match will be on ESPN+ in the US
Match is on DAZN in Canada. Do you guys have DAZN stateside? I had no choice but to subscribe because they bought all the rights to PL, CL and League Cup in Canada. It is $150 Canadian a year, but they also have every NFL game and a bunch of other sports. The company that owns DAZN, Platform Group, is loaded and they just blow the competition away in their bids for TV rights.
NBC has US rights to Premier League. But Europa league was CBS, League Cup ESPN, it's a mess. Forget who has the FA Cup. This must be peak fixture congestion week, I guess. Fully expect to go out, fielding a reserve side.
I *think* that ESPN has the FA Cup in addition to the League Cup and some select Championship matches. They have a decent selection outside of England, however.
We do have a loophole in Canada in that the NBC Saturday 5:30 pm kickoff can be seen here, even though there is a big disclaimer at the beginning of the broadcast saying something like "This broadcast is not authorized for viewing outside the USA". For some reason the DAZN people didn't gobble up the FA Cup rights, so that competition is still broadcast on Sportsnet, who used to have the rights for PL in Canada.
Here are the teams: Spurs: Lloris (C), Alderweireld, Dier, Tanganga, Aurier, Gedson, Ndombele, Sissoko, Reguilon, Bergwijn, Lamela. Chelsea: Mendy, Azpilicueta, Zoma, Tomori, Chilwell, Jorginho, Kovacic, Hudson-Odoi, Mount, Werner, Giroud.
Lamela is playing furthest forward, which makes no sense because when we do get the ball, there is nobody to play it to.
Today's exciting fun fact: the last Spurs player to score in this competition was...Fernando Llorente.
First chance to Chelsea, Tanganga misplays a low cross and Hudson-Odoi volleys into the arms of Lloris. Five games into the season and we are still looking for our first clean sheet.
0-1, Werner. Reguilon gives the ball away (welcome to the club, son) and Werner, who shredded us in the CL, drills a low shot into the corner past Hugo.
