Paramount now his this wonderful thing where if you join a match in progress you get it spoiled by thumbnails for the goal(s) already scored right below the progress bar if you go to FF or rewind.

Not any major news but the CL Semis will be on CBS.

(Both will also air on Univision too.)

Will Serie A be renewed next season? I think the current contract was for two seasons ending with this one. Any word on this?

Hopefully there'll also be a dedicated broadcast on Paramount+. I think we all know the odds of breaking news or bad weather is higher than one percent.

Commentary of Atletico-Arsenal is ahead of the action by 1-2 seconds both on CBS and Paramount+, meaning you hear what happens on the pitch before you see it. So annoying--and inexcusable for a major network. Can't they fix this?

Its a good 2 seconds for me. No choice but to watch on mute.

Oh well, its only a CL semifinal.

It seems to have been sorted out just in time for halftime.

Of course, not sure if these 2 commentators are any better than just watching on mute(?). That's always the problem with the big matches on main networks - they almost always come with the worst commentators.

They just could just use the world feed and have no sync problems, but they to foist Meola & crew on us. Thank goodness they weren't calling yesterday's classic.

I was able to synch the CBS feed with audio from French radio station RMC. Wondering if same thing could be done with an English-language radio feed.

When did the Essential plan lose non-Champions League soccer?

The two games this week were broadcast on CBS.

    That might be your answer.

Dempsey has no insight and no charisma. Why is he on the CL Today and Post-Game shows? Its not like they need another panelist either.

What's up with Paramount+ not having the full Southampton v Middlesborough match on replay?

    Completely lame.

    One step forward, two back.

I was elated that Paramount went back to keeping an archive of seasons so I could watch EFL trophy games I missed but then I'm watching this on and the replay ends way before the game ends. I'm avoiding spoilers so I can hopefully watch this if they fix it.

    Yeah. Pathetic production management.

I’d added +30 to my DVR’s record time. (Not sure why I stupidly didn’t add +60!). When that ran out at about 110’ I said “No problem, I’ll just watch the end on P+”. Not!

Apparently CBS was even stupider than me. They also terminated that match at around the same time.

So the only easy way for me to watch the end was to watch the highlights package.

And even more amazing than their original error is that it’s now six hours since the match completed and they still haven’t either learned of the problem or corrected it. Wow.

The cost-cutting, corner-cutting, laziness of sportscast production, in this age of AI, is remarkable. And it’s not only CBS.

Yeah someone was asleep at the wheel yesterday on this one as I watched it live (thankfully), and at the end of the regulation 90 it tried switching me out of it with the split screen it usually shows at the end of live matches where you have to click "keep watching", which of course I did.

Rookie mistake. You always add an hour when DVRing a match which could go to extra time/penalties.

Hell, I always add 15 minutes to regular matches just in case there's some kind of unforeseen delay.

Mistake yes. Rookie no. I generally do both things that you mention. But for some reason this time I clicked +30 instead of +60.

Making sure to watch today's Coppa Italia final live in case Paramount pulls the same crap again.

Watch them blame cord-cutting even though they have millions of people subscribing to live streamers and Paramount+.

Today’s screwup: the replay for the Hearts/Falkirk match actually shows the Motherwell/Celtic match.

I set my DVR to start 10 minutes early and end 30 minutes after the match for league matches.

I set my DVR to start 10 minutes early and to end 90 minutes late for knockout matches unless it's the second game of two (the second quarter final of back to back quarter finals, for example). If it's the second game of back to back knockouts or a final then I set the DVR to end 3 hours after.

I expect the WC is going to be a mess even during group games because of summer storms. Think how often games in Florida start late.

Fast forwarding a bit they eventually shift to the Hearts match about 5 minutes in...
