Well, not much of an update, still not even taking deposits...

I'm sure these guys will approach or beat Indy's 5,000+ deposits. I assume the demand is so high they're trying to ensure families will be able to get season tickets before the scalpers arrive.

Word is the Calvalry sold all tickets out at this point to corporate sponsors. No tickets will be available to public. Really disappointing news as i thought tickets would go to families but can't fault them for being successful...

You really think that they have sold every ticket to corporate entities?

I'm severely wary about this team if that turns out to be turn. How can you have a team and not have any real fans show up to the games?

They are building the exact opposite way we have in Indy. do they even have a supporters group? I feel like this team is organized thinking they are minor league rather than div. 2

Got off the phone with the owners earlier today. Though they are committed to the Loudoun site, they feel a more appropriate venue is needed to start at. Given the overwhelming demand for this team already it sounds like they'll play the Spring season in FedEx Field so all the hundreds of thousands of supporters can attend a game. More details to come...

If there is a supporter group there may not be one for long.

    a) the two mean the same thing in the USA (unless you believe in a Euro-centric soccer monoculture that trumps all national sports cultures) and b) No sane US minor league sports team handles tickets the way it sounds like the Cavalry are (I don't count the Bakersfield Jam as sane - desperation and sanity usually don't go together well).

Wow! This is EXACTLY what I'm afraid of in Oklahoma City with the USL-Pro group that has been awarded a franchise to start next year. That they will run it just like they run their minor league hockey team, namely don't ask any present fans what they think, just hang out a shingle, have $1 beer night, and hope people show up. And if they dont? Meh...
I;m rooting BIG TIME for the NASL group in OKC who've already reached out to the PDL supporter's group.
