Blah, so I can't type OR catch my own errors. You going or what?

    Update after checking my email...

    Matt
Robert (KCRovert, I got that right?)
    Tyler
    Stu
    Beth
    John
    Chad
    George
    Oct
    Mike K
    Jace
    Spoon
    Lisa
    Sam
    Chris
    Kevin
Nathan (you know him as the guy in the rainbow wig behind the benches)
    John Hooper (Nathan's friend)
    Dave Smith (Nathan's friend)

    People who should go:
    Mike G
    Nate
    Jason
    Matt Hartley
    Jeff
    Greg Cotton???

Nathan brought up a good point as well. Some people are interested in going down Friday. That is fine, I just need to know who. I can get hotel rooms for either one or two nights. BTW, in case I hadn't mentioned it, I think we're staying at the team hotel again.

If we do end up getting a bus as had been discussed, when would the bus be going down, friday or saturday?

And I won't know whether or not I can go on that friday until early August. I may be coaching that night.

IF there is a bus it would leave Saturday morning.

I'm still not convinced about the bus. I kinda like being able to drive when/where ever I want.

    "Legally". Oh man, that's funny.

On the whole 'legal' topic...If I DO make it to Dallas, anyone got my back if I should accidentally get tossed there too?

I don't plan on being in any sort of condition to drive all weekend... so it really doesn't matter to me.

The bus would be an absolute blast though. And a much more comfortable way to ride down there anyway.

Haha... yeah, I put it in there for a reason.

This will be Wizards roadie #4 for me... and like I said, the first one I can legally drink for. :D

And I got your back if you get tossed in Dallas... If I'm still standing at that point. :)

I don't want to speak for anybody, but...with his job, Mike's odds are pretty low. Hartley just moved to Madison, WI. Everybody else should go.

If we drive ourselves, one or both of my girls might go. If we go the bus route, they will stay home.

If there is any way to get down early for the game, we've got a thing we'd like you guys (and girls) to help us with.

We're kicking around the idea of a Supporters' Cup - basically an advanced kick-around for fun - during the MLS Cup weekend.

We'd probably love to have a trial-run. Anyone up for that?

(The dream for the MLS Cup, of course, would be to have a team from each club - but that probably isn't going to happen. And yes, this is for-fun, not competitive.)

    Thoughts?

There are plenty of us that play, but I'm not sure how this would fit in. What time on Saturday would you want to do this? Is anyone else interested in this?

If we did this, it would almost certainly mean we'd have to leave Friday and stay two nights. That adds a lot of money, which I'm not sure everyone is willing to do.

Yeah, I know the logistics might be a bit tricky. But we could arrange it so it is convenient for y'all. I know for me, the perfect scenario would be to be able to play, then shower and get a bite to eat before the game. So start at what? 2:00? 4-5 shower, 5-6 eat, 6-7:30 tailgate, game, tailgate, crash.

So that would mean either leaving REAL early on Sat. (not something I would want to do - drive that long, then play...? nah) or get some mileage done on Friday. Maybe four hours? Somewhere in Oklahoma?

I know there is the expense.

OTOH, this might be really helpful in the long run to have something like this as a warm-up..... (Hell, we should probably try to do it anyway....)

And again, it would be for-fun, not competitive. (I'd LOVE to have enough players so that we could have two games - one competitive and one not - but that is a pure, unadulterated pipe dream, I know).

Or - just throwing this out there - but would you be willing to play at 4:00 and just play and then go to the tailgate? We'd be sweaty and smelly, but hey, we're on a road trip in Texas - that is going to happen anyway!

Honestly, I'm open to anything worth kicking around - I just want to see if we can get something going.

I'm perfectly willing to sleep on the bus or in a car.

With the way I have been playing of late, I seriously doubt that a lack of sleep would adversely affect my abilities on the pitch.

(Sorry, typing at work and I tend to slip into management-speak without warning)

Other player's lack of sleep could actually help me look better...especially if they were actually asleep on the field. I am pretty sure I could stop a sleeping player. :)

Not sure I could take off Friday though, guess it would depend on when we were leaving.

I'm not so much worried about lack of sleep. I'm much more worried about how the large amount of alcohol I'll have been consuming will effect my play. :D

Wait a minute - tired, hungover and/or drunk. Hmm, doesn't that describe our normal Sunday kickaround state?

actually, yes. Those words describe my normal condition at the Sunday kickaround quite accurately. :)

    Quick question:

If we do schedule a "kickaround" with the Dallas group, does that mean Ben won't show up? :p
