Catching up with Jay Needham USL Rookie of the Year would be a great fit in Dallas. January 29th, 2008 . By: Buzz Carrick http://www.3rddegree.net/
Needham is good and it will be sad to see him go after next year, if Dallas gets them it will just be another wierd connection linking both teams, since we have your ex head coach and you have our ex head coach now.
here's the deal. if the foreigners' price and Jay Needham's price are in the same ballpark, it's not a problem. if the foreigners are over 30 and cost a million each, it's a big big problem. I hope Needham finds his way to an MLS team.
Please do read the source (3rddegree) as the above quote leaves out a critical bit of info that provides important context...like who them/they is.
Interesting....Needham could be providing a road map for NCAA seniors to bypass the MLS rookie salary issues. It's risky...you gotta be able to perform well in the USL. I don't know if it's any less risky than being a non-roster protected player on an MLS squad that isn't making much money. I hope it works out for him.
