Just got a chance to see this flick a couple of days early (I work in a movie theatre), and IMHO its a great lighthearted alternative to the more serious fare (Two Towers, Gangs of New York, etc.) on movie screens this holiday season.

Leonardo DiCaprio (who gets a bad rap from jealous fanboys who want to be him) really does well in the lead role as Frank Abagnale, a high school kid who runs away from home to become the most prolific fraud artist in American history.

After having seen Gangs of New York a few days previous, I must say I'm very impressed by DiCaprio's ability to comletely submerse himself into every role he takes on. He was totally believable in his role, one which he could have phoned in considering the other talent (Spielberg, Hanks, Walken, Sheen, etc.) involved.

This is the type of movie that allows DiCaprio's charisma to take center stage, as he charms his way through every persona his character takes on.

Tom Hanks is as always great in his supporting role of an FBI bank fraud agent in charge of capturing the elusive kid.

I won't go too much more into the movie than I already have, but I will say that the 2:20 run time seemed to fly by, which is always a good thing.

I haven't seen this movie, nor really intend to, but I can say that I read the book about 10-15 years ago, and it was excellent.

haven't seen the movie yet, but my roomie filmed scenes for it...whether she made it to the final cut or not...I guess I'll find out when I see it.
