    If you can help fill in the rest please post the information below, and I'll update this list. If you've got a source for the outlook that'd be particularly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Eskandarian was listed as missing the 6-5 Fire game for a strained hamstring. click here

    I think this is a recurring injury originally sustained while playing with the U23's in Olympic qualifying.

    he's had that injury since winter. it looked like it healed, but then he reaggravated it.

    I was actually concerned that convey might have a similar issue since hamstrings and groins are hard to heal, but he seems to be OK.

    Eskandarian was on the bench Saturday, and warmed up in the 2nd half.

    Isn't there some question about the health of one of Adu's ankles?
    I remember hearing something on one of the game broadcasts.

    Also Missing:

    Convey: 1 week, Nats
    Stewart: 1 week, Nats
    Kuffour: Indefinitely, Visa Issues

    Looking ahead at the schedule, this is what availability will look like:

    6/19 vs. Columbus - 9 players unavailable :: 12 field players available
    6/26 @ Dallas - 7 players unavailable :: 14 field players available
    7/03 vs. NY/NJ - 3 players unavailable :: 18 field players available

    We're pretty much screwed against the Crew. The outlook for the Dallas game also looks bleak. Given that, I think Nowak should hold Nelsen, Namoff, Esky, and Q1 out of the next two games. One point from the next two games would be a success if Nelsen and Namoff get healthy. If we get six points and the two N's reinjure themselves...failure.

    So I say we hope for one point from the next two. That would put us on 14 points going into the 7/03 Scum game - the final game of the 1st half of the season. Go after a win in that game and go into the second half of the season with the healthiest possible lineup.

    Barring further injury (knock wood), DC would have a full compliment of players (or as full as it'll get this year) against the Scum, and if DC wins, they could finish the 1st half of the year with 17 points. Granted, that's not a great total, but it would leave the team in the thick of the playoff mix.

    You're speculating about some of those time frames though. For instance, I suspect that either Nelsen or Namoff is available in some capacity this weekend. But you might be right about them being a couple weeks out for a full recovery.

    Also, I debated whether to make this a "who's available currently" thread in general. That would include things like who's on national team duty. Would that be better? We can always revamp this thing. I just want to keep up to date on this stuff and unlike some people I've gotta have it written down or else I won't be able to remember it all.

    Anyway, thanks for the Eski information.

    Its June 16, its officially mid June, so do you mean early July? Either way, I have just come to expect him to be continually hurt, when he is healthy, its a big deal.

    Tried to post this earlier, but BS hates me...

    Yeah, I went with a date by which each player could reasonably be expected at near full strength. These abdominal injuries tend to tempt players into playing with them. The players usually wind up reinjuring themselves...and missing more time. My point was just that I think Nowak should hold these players out until they're safely recovered because he needs to get the team healthy for a second half (of the season) push.

    But Eskandarian was in the squad and apparently ready to play last week, but you put him out for 2 more?

    And Nelsen, by accounts, did not aggravate his injury, just couldn't go more than 45 with it. Don't you think he may be on the bench as a late game sub?

    I know, it's kinda like the Dennis Leary joke about John Lennon getting shot and not one bullet hitting Yoko.

    Be careful what you wish for - that would leave us starting a back-up keeper as a field player!

    i dont expect to see namoff or nelsen (N&N)....

    does the fact that olsen isn't on that list mean he's healed? or just not nicked enuff to make it official?
