A better German translator can go at it, but it appears Casey- who is still getting over the pulled muscle behind the knee thing-....now it has 'spread' (can use help here translated) to the thigh. Or something like that. Here's hoping it gets solved soon, but doesn't sound too good to me (I don't think he's done anything but light training and some drills until now) http://www.kicker.de/content/news/a...bject=301738&liga=1&saison=2004/05&spieltag=1
o.k. then, maybe ching instead of casey on my usmnt for the first qualifier.... and start wolff. casey and job... maybe we should never pencil them in. if they're available its a bonus.
Don't you think that it's a little early to throw Casey into the same category as O'Brien in the oft-injured department?
Man, I took an embarrassing try at the translation. He's seeing a specialist is all I can add, but that because specialist is the same word in english and deutsch. Can't believe i live in the country and am this bad at the language. Where's Olaf?
because he HAS been oft-injured. he missed most of the 2002-03 season with hannover because of injury and prior to that was always getting hurt. Injuries have been a problem with casey all the way back from his U o Portland days.
I saw this, which seems optimistic: "It's going quite well." The confidence came back for Conor Casey, whose new job with Mainz began with an injury. Since Sunday, he's been back running (Lauftraining), on Thursday will he finally be where he belongs, with the team in the training camp in Herzlake. Following the above paragraph, they mentioned they'd originallly thought he had a muscle tear, but decided it was actually a bruise.
The Mainz team is back from their training camp (Sa. 17th June). Conor left early (Thursday) to see a specialist as he was having problems when he tried to join the "real" training. Before he was just running to pick up on condition.
Somehow, I missed the Casey mention in the main article and paged down for the link I quoted. It stated he was having some problems with his calf.
For a little more detail, see http://soccertimes.com/americans/2004/jul18.htm Sounds as if things are on the mend, but I also doubt his availability for Nats play in the short term.
