Guys, I hope some of you can make it up from Charleston for the match against our RailHawks on 5/19. We even can get special rates at local Marriott brand hotels (fairfield inn, residence inn, etc.) for you. Here's a travel guide where you'll find info on the discount rate for traveling supporters: http://trisoccerfan.com/nucleus/index.php?catid=15&blogid=1 It's pretty good. For example, the Courtyard is regularly priced at $79 for May 19th but you can get it for $59 with that discount code. Our local indoor facility, just a couple of miles from the park, is willing to offer us some free time on their fields if any of you are interested in a friendly kick around beforehand (or even after if that suits you guys better). We'll need to know for sure whether or not to reserve it by next weekend though so let us know if you guys are bringing enough folks and will be here early enough (say 4pm) for friendly warm-up before the main event. Jarrett
Thanks for the offer, Jarrett. I also posted something on the usldiscussions forum. I won't be able to participate in the kick around (if there is one) but I think I'll be driving up for the match.
also look like Ill be making the trip up. most likely with Ish and another guy I work and possibly one other. Also might be a couple others meeting us there from Columbia. I know they have a no backpack policy but what is the policy on bringing in flags, banners and flag poles? (actually PVC pipes) Are the stadium workers sticklers on seating or should we all try to get seats together and if so, where?
Does this answer your question? You shouldn't have problems with flags, flagpoles, noisemakers, etc. No fireworks and nothing profane on your banners and nobody will care. The only issue you'll have with seating is if you try to sit in someone's seat that wants it for themselves. Typically the four corner sections on the sides are virtually empty. Same goes for the two corners on the south end. Unless their is an amazingly unexpected turnout for "Hawaiian Night" I don't think you'll have a problem.
i would deffinately participate in a kick around if anyone else wants to??? we have never done that before!!
dont know if I will make it up much before match time but maybe when we do our organized trip up next time we'll plan for a little extra time before the match for some more prematch activies
