Following the recently rumoured move of Everton's Lee Carsley to Arsenal for £25m (£20m if we throw in Vierra), I thought id do some statistical analysis on him and compare him to a recent aquisition of yours. One C. Ronaldo.

Now admidedly these stats may be a little out of date, but the evidence is certainly apparent that Carsley may be better than C. Ronaldo...

    Player Name: Lee Carsley
    Starts: 13
    Goals: 2
    Mins Played: 1138
    Bookings: 3
    Sent Off: 0
    Hair: No

    Player Name: Cristiano Ronaldo
    Starts: 10
    Goals: 0
    Mins Played: 915
    Bookings: 0
    Sent Off: 0
    Hair: Yes

Now most of those stats speak for themselves, but the two that really clinch it for me, that really make it apparent Carsely may just be the superior player are these two:

Cards: Carsley has 3 of them, and I mean come on, who DOESNT like to get cards, especially at this time of year. Any player willing to get into the festive spirit will invariably be a real team player

Hair: Carsely's lack of hair clearly makes him a hard bastid, which I think Arsenal really need. We have a reputation as being a bit soft, and never really making any hard tackles, so I think this may be a good thing for us. Also it is apparent that C.Ronaldo's lack of "hardness" is directly proportional to the ammount of hair he has more than Carsely.

Finally, did you SEE his goal against Newcastle on Sunday. Absoloute cracker it was. If he only does that twice for us (as he has for Everton) then its worth the asking price alone.

I think once again Wenger has proved his managerial genious by investing in little known talent, while Man U just continues to buy proven superstars - which just isnt very sporting - is it?

Yeah, but at the same time I can imagine quite a few people getting sensitive and the end result of a card for a United poster who did that would not suprise me much.

Perhaps. But with an opening line like "Lee Carsley to Arsenal for £25m (£20m if we throw in Vierra." I think most people would take it for what it is...

...but perhaps the timing was not so great with a game playing tonight. I stand by my intent, if not my methods. Perhaps I should have linked those two threads in the first place. My appologies if you took it to heart.

Pfft. Coach and Rick are about as lenient as they come. I recall a Man Utd newbie spooging some Ronaldo man-crush when he first joined your squad a while back, and aside from some mickey-taking I dont recall either of them being carded for it.

Er this was suppossed to be a joke guys. Please don't take it out on Dave, I take full responsibility. Come on, lets face it - the first sentance takes any reality out of it!! There's enough bad blood between the two boards, this was something we could all take the mick with.......

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Dave_M again."

    Oh, I will .... I will.

You're taking this thing like a man, Dave, and you deserve some backup.

Well it is only his second? goal since these shinanigens started - but it would be funny if he started going on a mad scoring run.

Silly jesting to eerie prophecy...I of course would claim I suspected it all along if it happens :D

I nearly busted a gut when Lee scored yesterday! The prophesy comes true!

Fergy should be bidding on Lee for the January window about now! ;)
