Tomorrow kicks off the ninth annual Carolina Challenge Cup at blackbaud.

We'll be tailgating from about 3 with tons of chili and beer (and some sides too im sure)

Tickets sales are going well and the weather looks like it will co-operate as it looks to be pretty nice tomorrow.

Lots of local press on tv and radio as well but nothing I can find archived anywhere.

Battery twitter said all the matches will be streamed on the web as well. I imagine the link will be on the Battery website on game day.

    previews of the teams.

Will pass along your wishes. Wish you could have made it down but I know how life gets in the way some times!

Form everything I have seen (except a link!) you should be able to watch the matches online.

I see that the battery got a 2 - 2 result, not bad.

yeah 2-2 for Charleston v Crew

    1-0 to DC over Chicago.

Great night to be back at the 'buad, even though it down in the 30s for the match and the wind was pretty steady making feel even colder.

Attendance was announced at 5700+ our largest attendance for the CCC to date IIRC. kudos to the front office staff for their hard work and going up against a couple big festivals and the local hockey teams annual "pink in the rink" night.

    here are a couple articles

Hey Brook....howdy!! Was wondering if you made it out of the frozen tundra and down south to the simply frosty tundra. I didn't see any blood splattered at Blackbaud or hear of any Crew fans getting arrested on Saturday so I figured you didn't make it! The bright yellow Jello shot inflatable canoe (complete with Freddy Adu's signature) sits proudly in my office. I get asked from time to time "WTF is that?" and I re-tell the story, I think fondly of that night when the legend of the yellow banana hat was born. Take care & remember us when you make your summer vacation plans.....

Tomorrow the pregame meet up will be at Madra Rua at 2ish for the US v. Italy match.

The first match will be Columbus v. Chicago at 5pm you can watch the match live by tuning into the teams websites.

The Battery v. DC United match is at 7:15-7:30 kickoff and they will be battling for the Coffee Pot Cup.

Also, if you haven't been following MLS much, MLS is doing a "road trip to first kick" ( http://www.mlssoccer.com/first-kick/road-trip/2012 ) and the east coast team of Nick Firchau (extratime radio host) and Fox Soccer host Temryss Lane will be in town. Rumor is they will be at Madra for the US match

They will also be hitting the matches for the CCC and likely the Three Lion as well.

if you see them say hello!

not the Result we wanted last night, but I thought the score wasn't indicative of the score line. Some good things I thought were Falvey and Flatley on the middle in the back. I also thought be looked pretty good up top and created some good chances. Jose Cuevas goal was a thing a beauty. and Kelly looks like his game improved in the offseason.

I'm coming down from Florence with my son for the games tomorrow (might not get there until 2nd half of game 1). What does the weather look like and how will attendance be for the games?

weather is looking wet but you know how it goes around here typically it is very spotty and rolls through pretty quick.

There is call for some bad thunderstorms but they look to be a little after 12.

as far as attendance, the rain will keep a lot away. the first match sold out but they sold standing room only tickets and I don't think anyone was turned away. Tehy also sold a lot of group packages to High School and youth groups which I don't expect to there this weekend.

well curry was good at least.

It started raining before noon and didn't let up throughout the night.

sucks the games couldn't play but with the lightning for the first game and the continuous rain (which didn't stop until sun rise this morning) there was no way the guys could have played.

good to meet all those that came down for the games. (good size Columbus contingent on Saturday) Hope you get back someday!

Came down with my son on Saturday. Game called off just as I was coming over the bridge on 526. Bummer to not see the games but I enjoyed the 3 Lions and also a nice dinner with my son at DIG. See you all again this spring/summer for some Battery football!

Not the night you had planned but it sounds like it turned out okay in the end.

A couple more weeks before the season starts which will be made easier by a few preseason matches thrown in.

This week Coastal Carolina at Blackbaud on Thursday night. 7pm.
