And when Darwin was given a chance against Uruguay in Barranquilla he looked pretty good. Even did a very good pass to Falcao who kicked it right to the Goal Keeper.
Soccer is a what have you done for me lately type of business. Of course being the second best scorer on the team looks nice but you and everyone has to admit that within the last year he has been missing opportunities he should bury. Like against Ecuador for instance. So for dusty to rag on Darwin for missing one when Teo has not really done much the last 12 months is a bit hypocritical.
Point still stands. The guy who makes a comment about Darwin's one miss in limited opportunities is the same guy that makes Teo into his idol. And Teo is far from perfect . There has to be some sort of balance here.
You have to keep things in proper perspective The comments about Teo only came up because of the poster who considers his god to be the greatest. Not because people are seeking out to persecute Teo like the witch hunt you make it out to be.
pepino, the WHOLE team made this world cup happen. But many here admit that every player is pretty much replaceable with the exception of maybe 2-3players. Teo has gotten a lot more chances than the average player. I agree with you that not everyone can stand the pressure to wear the yellow but Darwin has been playing for the NT ever since U20 days. He understands the process but has surely not had the same support as Teo has enjoyed. At some point, as Homie mentions, one has to value what is most recent. It was being stuck in past glory that got us in trouble in the past. I have watched every Teo match in RP and even YOU agreed that he needs to put up big numbers this season or else he will likely lose his starting spot. He's a striker. His job is to put goals in the net. So far while he's been the best RP player imo, he's still not scoring. That worries me as a striker needs confidence to score. And we need to score if we want to get far in the WC. It's that simple.
Man oh man. He is playing some of the best futbol of his career. Tis a shame there's just way too many great strikers for Colombia the he may have to watch the WC at home.
