    -----------------Morrison
    ---------Park----------------------Valencia
    -------------Fletcher-------Gibson
    Fryers--------Smalling-----Evans-----Rafael
    -------------------Lindegaard

with Pogba, Petrucci and Will Keane getting run-outs off the bench.

I wouldn't have a clue where to find it.

In some ways, a most interesting match for us. If Morrison gets a start and shows his prodigious talent as he is well capable of, it might change the dynamics of the first team for the rest of the season. Hopefully that is the case.

We are at home and should be winning this comfortably....I had give Young a start just to let him play himself into at least some kind of form....

Totally forgot about Diouf, he was that pointless a signing and even more pointless not getting him a loan.

    Pogba-------Gibson

    Made a mistake above.

Would be disappointed if at least one of Pogba and Morrison doesn't start. Don't care about Gibson tbh.

Morrison is levels above Pogba. It would be baffling if he is not favoured over him - unless position played is what's key here.

Without a doubt. Even more so compared to Kiko.

I am sure Morrison realizes that as well.

Considering the current state of our midfield and the refusal to even consider players like Pogba we need to get Gibson match fit for the December period.

Morrison doesn't fit our system. He's an 8/10 hybrid. He's also immature and unstable.

Pogba actually plays a position of need and has a solid head on his shoulders. Not only that, but Pogba is physically something that we miss in the team/position as well.

Those things considered and our treatment of CM in the last decade, I'll be shocked if Pogba gets the chance ahead of Morrison.

See Cr's line-up. No reason for Rooney to play this game. No reason for Ra'vel not to - unless something's gone awry in-house.

Yea, that's the only reason why he could possibly miss out, imo. PT can be seen as a reward for good, stable behaviour.

It's annoying to see in real time a player who should be getting games now not featuring at all.

We badly need more creativity, insicisvness and movement across our attacking line. In fact, imo, we need that more than we need solid CM play.

If you're weak in an area, you can paper that over by forcing the opposition to constantly play on the backfoot. We can't even do that these days.
Pogba is set to start, as stated by the manager, whilst there hasn't been a word mentioned about Morisson. Again. :(

What SAF said on the website:

The boss will again rely heavily on youth, as he has in the previous rounds against Leeds United and Aldershot Town, and has suggested that Paul Pogba could be handed his first senior start for the Reds. The Frenchman came on as a substitute at Elland Road and the EBB Stadium but is now in the running for a place in the initial eleven, alongwith fellow FA Youth Cup winner Ravel Morrison.

"There will be complete change," revealed Sir Alex. "Just the same as we had at Leeds and Aldershot. Ravel Morrison was in the squad for Wednesday's game [against Benfica]. He's a very, very talented boy, of course, and he'll possibly be on the bench, at least, in midweek. But I've got other players needing a game like Mame Biram Diouf and Federico Macheda.

"All the younger players [will come in] - Zeki Fryers, the two Da Silvas [Rafael and Fabio] are possibles. Chris Smalling has come back and I may be able to play him on Wednesday. He's still young and it'll be a young squad against Palace. The only area where I've got problems is centre midfield. It's possible I could play Pogba in there but we'll wait and see. I've got enough players to choose from, that's for sure."

Re: Carling cup QF : Manchester United vs Crystal Palace - Nov 30, 2011

My point is that while Rooney is here and we play 442 or some derivation of it, there won't be room for Ra'vel in his best position. I don't for one second think that Ra'vel lacks the talent to make it at United. Talent is never the issue with these kids, it is often temperament.

FWIW, I think we have plenty of creativity in our team. What we lack is timing and composure especially deep.

Someone in the match thread lamented that Carrick kept passing to Giggs and someone else who kept wasting possession. The problem wasn't that Carrick was making bad passes or passing to the wrong people, it is just that most of our team had Vidicbauer syndrome and they try to do too much too often.

Pogba will learn, but I think he already has that natural pass and move to him and one of his hallmarks has always been that ability to find the extra second to play a neat pass.

Regardless of how all this turns out, I just never want to see Anderson in the first team again until Pogba and Morrison have had a run of games.

Also, I'd bet good money that Pogba wont start. Fergie has done this in the past.

You act like Rooney can't play further up the pitch.

Or wide left? Would take someone special to push back out there again. Then again, look at Messi circa-2009.
