Both sides are expecting to start reserves players in tomorrow's cup match with Arsenal fielding the less experienced side. There could be as many of 5 YA's to feature in the match: Howard, Spector, Rossi, Karbassiyoon & Simek. Spector, Rossi & Danny K are mentioned in the article as rising stars. Its interesting that Simek is not mentioned in that group. This match could set the record for YA's featruing in the same match abroad. http://football.guardian.co.uk/News_Story/0,1563,1362656,00.html
Gotta laugh. Invariably when English don't know what (good) to say about an American player...they use the term 'athletic'. It would be funny if it wasn't so pitiful and journalistic-lazy..
Simek and Karbassiyoon are on the roster for the match tomorrow against United. http://www.arsenal.com/article.asp?...Tr afford+trip
yep. Not exactly sure why this would be the wrong thread given that he is in the squad for this match.
I think it's time we stop looking at Rossi as an american. It's pretty clear he's made his choice. It's Italy. He wants to play for the mother land.
Doesn't mean he's not also American, or that people can't identify with and root for a kid who grew up in New Jersey. He's as American as I am, for instance. I never declareed my intention to play for the US internationally, either. Of course, in my case, England wasn't exactly asking me to play for their youth teams.
Spector needs to do well in this match.Since Spector dosent play in the league the only way for West Brom to see him play is the League Cup.A good match here would be great. Also a big match for Howard. He needs to prove to SAF that he learned from those awful mistakes in the early part of the season.Onto the Arsenal team.Simek played for QPR and did well. A good match here against Arsenals rivals could get him another match in the FA Cup then a good match there on the squad for a League match so on and so on.
Who knows, but I don't think the odds are that Spector will start. He appears to be behind Fortune at left back and O'Shea and Brown will probably be the center backs.
Regarding Danny Karbassiyon it appears as though Clichy is back in the Arsenal squad. I assume that means he's fit and played some reserve games. If so then look for Danny on the bench as well. Might not be too many Yanks starting/playing as we think.
Speaking of which, why is Brown on this roster? Didn't he play Saturday? I'd given up on trying to predict SAF's line-ups but it would seem as though he leaning toward something like this... ------Smith-----Rossi Richardson-DJ2-Klebs-Fletcher Fortune-O'Shea-Brown-P.Neville ----------Howard OTOH, I think Simek and Karby will be starting today. Karby on the left and Simek on the right.
Spector could be on the bench. That last quote goes along with my prediction of a start at LB for Karby and RB for Simek.
I forgot about Clichy coming back. Yeah, Clichy might get the start but I doubt he'll go 90. I expect to see Karby in there. It's strange that the YA that is most unlikely to play in this match is Spector and he is perhaps the best of the bunch.
The BBC roster for United looks a whole lot like a line-up. Could it be that United submitted the roster this way w/o thinking or is it just a coincidence? That roster fits perfectly for... ----------Howard Neville-Brown-O'Shea-Fortune Fletcher-DJ2-Klebs-Richardson --------Smith-Bellion subs: Spector, Eagles, Rossi, Ricardo, Ngalula Hope not but...
The list is incomplete...the poster didn't catch all of the bench names. Another post said Rossi, Pique, and Jones were on the bench but that was an incomplete post as well.
