Re: Carling Cup:Aldershot Town vs Manchester United

Hopefully we see a nice integration of squadies and youth, with the likes of Pogba, Petrucci, Cole, Morrison, and Fryers looking to make their way into the team.

    --------------Lindy
    Jones----Vidic---Fryers----Fabio
    --------Carrick---Pogba
    Valencia------------------Park
    ---------Berba----Owen

    or maybe...

    ----------------Lindy
    Valencia---Vidic---Jones---Fabio
    ---|-------Carrick---Pogba
    ---|---------Morrison--------Park
    ---v-----Diouf-----Owen

I'm partial to the second one. :D

I am guessing Owen will start up top maybe with Berba alongside him...I had love to see Pogba and Morrison but I am not having much hopes.....Lets start Valencia and see if he has figured out how to play football and cross the ball...I dont know...Just win comfortably....I dont want to see another crap performance......I have had a tough day at work with all the ABU's trying to wind me up....Its funny how they come out in such huge numbers when we lose...Lets shut them up......

If Ferguson does not start utilising the likes of Carrick, Pogba and Morrison then he needs to take a long hard look at himself. With the current problems we have in midfield, at both ends, it makes absolutely no sense to completely ignore Carrick and even less to not start blooding that pair in. If our midfield is going to be weak and prone to mistakes in the near future we might as well make the most of it by giving the youth some experience and allowing them to progress.

Totally agree with you. I'd like to see Carrick, Cleverley, Pogba, and Morrison starting if possible. I'd like Macheda to be given a striker role, not at the wings.

Possible subs: Petrucci, Cole, Fryers, Diouf, Evans, Amos.

This is the team I want to see -

    ----------------------Berbatov
    -Park------------Giggs--------Morrison-------Valencia
    ---------------------Carrick
    Evans------------Vidic---------Rio-----------Smalling
    ----------------------DDG

Continuity in the defense starts here.

I think we should stick 10 men behind the ball, keep it tight (hopefully 0-0 til around the 80th minute)...then we try and nick a goal on the break, or on a set piece.

If only you still had Gary Neville to do long throws, that would have been useful in these types of games :(

I think you were on a WUM but I'm not sure. I just wondered if you were hoping that might have some reverse effect on Fergie and he would do the complete opposite. :D

    Only the third?:)

I don't know what to say. I like to inject a little humour into these match threads now and again. Maybe some people just aren't used to it. Though, if people really think I was being serious when I said we should defend for our lives and hope to sneak a win against Aldershot....then I don't know who comes across looking worse.

For the record, I thought that at least two of the more recent ones were clearly in humor. Im actually surprised James had to ask this time.

Would Evans not be suspended for this match?

Valencia, Berbatov and Park need football. Happy for Lindegard to get a run out. Cleverly and Rafael to make a come-back if fit.

    --------------------Lindegard
    Rafael*----------Jones-------Smalling--------Fabio
    ---------------Cleverly*---Pogba
    Valencia------------------------------------Park
    ----------------------------Berbatov
    -------------------Owen/Diouf

    * - If fit.

Would be great to see Pogba run out a game so he can get closer to some bench appearances for the first team. Morrision off the bench would be great too.

Any word on gibbo? I think he might be back in training too. If fit, it wouldn't shock to see an appearance from him.

    *ducks from flying rocks*

Don't Morrison starting this one to be honest. Outside shot with pogba, but would be a touch surprised.

Think he's training again. Tabloids snapped a pic of him leaving his place for Carrington last week.

Thinking about it, I think Park, Giggs, Carrick, Berba, Owen and Valencia (RB) will all see significant time. Fergie will want to keep them sharp. There won't be a lot of room for kids.

All I want is Ravel, Pogba, and Fryers; and the rest I am indifferent about playing veterans.
