    So just curious,

For 127 I'd like to retain the red & yellow cards, and the 'dive' judges cards, and at this point, to hang the River Ratz banner if just for the colorful TV shots. Seems better than a dry, anemic "rapids supporters fiduciary seating area" sign that we're likely to get otherwise.

I can't sing, but suprisingly that isn't a real problem fitting in. I hope that Dan feels the irresistable draw to retrun to 127 with his drum, but if not another must step forward to 'sing'. Don't look at me. Someone is a singer out there....

Maybe we can get the Rapids to OK "official" Rapids flags/pennents etc. in the section. Just remind them of the TV importance of these sort of things.

Once we're back on the touch line, I think it would be nice to reproduce the exact "offside rule" on the MLS site so we can sorta chant the rule for those times when the linesman has clearly forgotten the rules fine points (like when the freakin ball was kicked). Also good for TV, "The supporters club is reading the offsides rule to the linesman..guess they disagree with the call!"

For a while in the 90's we made a effort to pack the front two rows with kids (AKA 'Ratz of the future'). We did that last year, too, but perhaps setting up the core standing/noisy group a few rows up gives the shorter folks a chance to see the game and avoid the games with only ,like, you know, 10 people there. Further, my wife will go to games but refuses to sit too close to the mayhem. She is still pissed that they traded Marcelo, by the way. But keeping a sitting supporters area happy certainly is to everyone's advantage.

It's only 74 days to kickoff.

You won't be the only one with a banner or flag to hang on the front of the section. I know of at least 3 other flags/banners that people will be hanging.

Also, if you want to be proactive about trying to help this section be organized and vibrant, you should get in touch with the Rapids, specifically German (gsferra@mlsnet.com).

Did I miss something??? Are you asking the people who own season tickets in 127 to make a special concession for your wife? Or to give up seats in the first few rows to kids??? Or to give way to people who sit???

    Answer to all 3: NO

I moved seats that had a better sight-line to 127... So that I wouldn't have to worry about kids, worry about people's wives, and that I could stand like a real supporter...

Sorry If I'm way off base and read that post wrong, but that's how I read it...

Not to sound cruel or insensitive, but I'd rather not see 127 go the "family friendly" route. People have the rest of the stadium to soak up that kind of atmosphere.

    Nein!!!!!!

Big Black Sombreo, others can move around if they plan on sitting.

Like Fashion wrote, we moved from better seats to the section where we can stand, hang over the railling and jump like the monkeys that we are at the matches.

One thing to keep in mind is that in 127 we will not have a linesman patrolling the side. This guy will be from midfield to the north end. The ref in the center will control this end. We can shout at the ref across the pitch from us however.

And dare I think that the future Rapids wunderkin can fall in the line of senority? I think there will be enough space for all.

And there will be another banner here hanging in front.

Not trying to be confrontational, but hopefully we can work things out now, here before the season starts.

there should be enough space for all. especially if the GVPV are going to join the River Ratz in Section 127. we have lots of banners too, by the way :D

    Chants

Although I have tickets with the dreaded families, (I don't think my 5 and 2 year olds our ready for serious fun yet) I am inspired by by the supporters section. Has anyone tried to chant Haiku?

    Tolerance, boys...

    Yes, you are missing something.....

As someone who has been standing and yelling for years, I don't think I'll change, and don't expect any of the other core supporters to quiet down, either. Last year the number of stander/cheerers seemed to decrease thru the season in 129. Lots of reasons for this.

I was hoping for some thoughtful responses on how to, you know, grow (not change) section 127, knowing that eventually, folks sitting there will try standing, singing, or whatever.
