So, first match Thursday, away to Coventry. Based on recent history in this competition and current form, I predict Ange will field a fairly strong lineup, we will struggle to score, and it will end 0-0 or 1-1. Of course, we will go out on penalties. (Past performance is not a guarantee of future results, so COYS!) If I were picking the team, I would start Radu for Romero, Odobert for Johnson, Gray for Porro, and Sarr for Bentancur (unless Bissouma is available). I would give Bergvall and Mikey Moore significant minutes. And I would tell them to score some frickin' goals.
On that cheerful note, some inspirational reading: https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...-raises-further-doubts-about-ange-postecoglou
They are off to a slow start in the Championship, 14th in the table with 5 points from their first 5 matches.
Excellent advice, up there with Redknapp's call to 'run around a bit ' . The fundamental error of Angeball is not scoring as many goals as the other team. If I were in charge, I would make sure they scored at least one more goal than the opposition. I believe this would lead to much more success for the team. Seriously, despite their league start, Coventry were in the promotion playoffs last year and nearly eliminated Man U from the cup. Still the team should be motivated to prove a point after NLD.
In the US, it appears that Paramount Plus has the rights to Europa League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup. It also appears that new subscribers can get a whole year for $30. So as much as I don't want another subscription, this seems worth it. $30 for at least 10 Spurs games, and hopefully many more than that. Better than hunting around for a stream and then watching in Farsi or something.
Nice one Funkfoot, I'm going to sign up for that. Seems like ESPN still has the FA cup sadly, but this is worth it for Europa alone. Also on Paramount are a bunch of Championship/League 1/2 games.

So it's the typical disjointed, have-these-guys-ever-played-together display. Got it. The all-green kit against the green pitch is... a choice.
HT 0-0. Same old, same old, lots of tippy-tappy football, but no end product - their goalkeeper could have pulled out a chaise longue and taken a nap.
0 shots, 0 shots on target. Has all the hallmarks of a game that’s going to end 1-0 to Coventry in the 89th minute. Or us scoring a game typing goal in the 90th going on to lose on penalties.
Just off work. Checked the match ... 74% possession ... no shots on goal. I haven't seen a second of it, and yet I feel like I've seen it all.
The last passage of play sums up our ineptitude - Werner receives the ball on the left of the box, checks back to the middle, keeps running across the pitch, inevitably loses the ball, they play one pass, and Forster saves from their forward.
Again, they just play a ball over the top, and Spence has to intervene for a corner. They look the more likely.
Coventry should have scored! Again we play that idiotic line on the centre stripe, the ball over the top cleans out everyone, Forster comes off his line, wipes out one of our players, and luckily Davies is able to block when they should have scored.
Momentum in football is so clear sometimes. You can almost see the confidence draining from our players with every individual gaffe. The home side are huffing and puffing, and the crowd are urging them on. Only looks like one winner from here.
