OK so not right now, but prior to the seasons start. What was the general feeling about Nowak coming on as Coach? I wasn't on Bigsoccer at the time and since meeting much of you I am interested in what your opinions WERE of having him come on as coach. I think now his abilities as a coach have been proven, but what about back then?

I was pissed just because of 1998, but I was willing to give anything a shot after the Hudson era. Plus I had a grudging respect for him anyway. Let's just say my mood has changed since.
I definitely was one of the doubters. I am glad to see my doubts were misplaced. Nowak is a fine coach, he is the right guy to bring Freddy and the other young players along. Some have taken him to task over substituion strategy, but it seems to me he has done about as well as possible given the very lean roster structure imposed on him by MLS.
I suppose that when I heard he was discipline-oriented and wanted to "win all the trophies" I was pretty much on board. I have to admit there were some times during the season when I doubted what was going on, but so far I think he's shown he has what it takes. For his first season as a coach, period, he's done okay in my book.
