A story NOT about the war. I guess science news could go under Current Events, can't it?

    Deep sea monster squid found

This is a pretty major scientific find.

The first ever fully intact speciman, apparently:

"Five of the six previous discoveries have only been pieces inside sperm whale stomachs."

Ah, the glamour of marine biology.

Man, don't you know, you're supposed to stuff them. Yummy. Fried is good too though.

Next they need to concentrate on the ever-elusive wild Marinara.

Apparently, this is a relative of the giant squid. The giant squid has been found washed up and in the fishing nets of New Zealand fishers.

They are believed to be more agressive that the giant squid.

    This is awesome.

No. The scientific name for the 'colossal' squid is apparently mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni, while the scientific name for the 'giant' squid is Architeuthis Clarkei, which is apparently in the same family with Architeuthis Dux the 'giant' squid that was featured in Peter Benchly's "The Beast."

So which one is bigger and more dangerous, Colossal Squid, or Giant Squid?

Do I look like Jaques Cousteau? I would imagine that a really large squid with a nasty temper would be dangerous irregardless of whether it was 30 ft long and 300 lbs or 120 ft and 2 tons. That being said, I think of 'colossal' as larger than 'giant.'

The colossal squid is thought to be more agressive.
Then again, I doubt any of us are going to be swimming in their waters. The giant squid lives 1500 feet underwater. The pressure alone would crush you, not to mention how balls-shriveling cold the water is.

Who would win in a Cage Match?

Freddy Adu, Ditka, the Colossal Squid or the Giant Squid?

Ditka would still win, but would share the several tons of calamari with Freddy.
