    Donovan has never been named captain at the senior level.

    he was wearing the armband during his postgame interview. i'm curious to know if he's the youngest ever. anyone know?

    He was wearing the armband after Mathis was taken out. I guess technically he wasn't 'named' captain.

    Who was the captain for the '90 World Cup team? Windischmann I believe. How old was he?

    I tired looking this up on a few various sites...without much success..but

    I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that somewhere in some of the dark days of the nats, 1987 - 1990 when 21 year old Meola and company were trying to qualify for/playing in Italia 1990 one or more of those guys would have had the 'band and been close. Being younger than LD though, I doubt...
