Current AS Roma and former Real Madrid manager, Fabio Capello, talked about to the possible interest of the merengues in Italian Francesco Totti and stated his conviction that Florentino Perez is "capable of everything" and "you never it know what can happen".

"In Italy nobody thought that Zidane and Ronaldo were going leave Juventus and Inter, but in the end they went", commented Capello to COPE, noting that he understands that Totti can be taken in as part of the new philosophy the merengue's top executive.

The coach, who admitted to receiving a large offer for Totti, continued showing his affection for the blancos and assured that a possible return to the Bernabeu is not an impossibilty, "an offerby Real Madrid can never be simply dismissed", he added.

Figo and Ronaldo could both move this summer. If that was to happen the Totti deal would be a certainty.

I'd sell Ronaldo to Chelsea for say 200 million euros

If Chelski want a star, make them pay for it.

Besides, Ronaldo would probably prefer returning to Inter. So I think this is far fetched.

With the ridicilous sum Chelsea give for Ronaldo, Real can buy another 8 players.....Totti, Henry, Ballack, Joaquin, Alonso, Alex.....

I wouldn't sell him to Chelsea unless they make a ridiculous bid...which I am kind of hoping they do.

I don't think El Gordito has that many yrs left. How long before Adriano overtakes him in Brazil's starting eleven. I give Ronaldo 1 more WC where he will play an integral role. So I wouldn't mind selling him and chasing Adriano.

Just make sure Real have all the other deals in place before they sell Ronaldo and don't let Chelsea disclose the deal that way other teams won't ask for the moon when Real come knocking for their players.

I agree with you. I do not think Ronaldo has that many years of world class football left in him. Given the toll his body has already taken and the wear and tear it takes while not being in top condition. I bet his 2006 WC is his swan song as a top player.

Do people here think Ronnie will really leave after this year? Lets say we win the CL and Copa del Ray and lose close to Valencia in La Liga. Would Ronnie stay or go? Where would he go, Inter and Chelsea being the front runners? I personally would hate to see him go, as he is both scoring at an insane rate, but also doing it with style and class. He, as much as I hate to say it, has been much more effective than Raul, and you must remember, he's only 26. I'd say he has at least 6 years at the top of his game, barring injury or a massive weight change :)

I don't see Ronaldo has having a deep love for Real Madrid and I figure he wants to try the EPL before he calls it a day. Should Chelsea come calling with 30 million I doubt Real Madrid would turn them down.

Madrid will sell him this summer or next and pick up a new galactico to fill his boots.

    30 million?

No..Chelski have to pay big time if they want him.

To get a world famous player they will go overboard which is what I am counting on if they come in with a bid.

Remember, they bidded 100 million for Raul which was ridiculous.

About totti, Valdano has said "Madrid hasn't made a big offer for totti, Capello must be speaking about other club". But, you know, it can be true or false. Personally, i think that RM is moving the market like all the years. I'm sure that they have a very clear objetive, but they aren't going to say it until that they are 100% sure that he will play in Madrid. Florentino has made that the last years and i don't think that he change his strategy this year.

There are rumours that the favourite player of Florentino is Henry, and that the Favourite player of Valdano and Quieroz and the players is Totti. But they are only rumours.

About Ronaldo, RM is a buyer club nor a seller. RM won't sell Ronaldo at least that Chelsea pay a extraordinary money for him. Ronaldo is the best striker in the world, he is being a essencial player for the team, I read the last week that half of points of RM this year are for the Ronaldo goals. He is being a key player for our good position in all the throphies this year.

If we sell him we would have to buy another strikers similar to him, if he exist at this moment. Those strikers could be Van Nistelrooy, Henry or Vieri. All of them are very very expensive, and very difficult to sign. Vieri will be the "cheapest", but if have to choose between Ronaldo and Vieri. I choose Ronaldo with the eyes closed.

Ronaldo and Beckham are the two most famous soccer player in the world. RM isn't going to sell a player so important for the team on the field, and for generate money to the team, for only 30M €.

If Chelsea pay 80-100M € for Ronaldo. RM, maybe, would think to sell him, not for less money.

I'm sure that Abramovich/Chelsea will make his great attack this summer, but they know that they have to pay a over market price to the clubs to sign a superstar players. They failed the last year. They paid a superstar price for very good players, but not superstars. They still have to win throphies to have enough prestige to attrack the best players without pay a extra money. And they know that they must sign a superstar to attract other superstars. Their principal objetive will be RM because it's the team with more "superstars/galacticos", but I see very difficult that they can sign any of them. Maybe they have a little chance to sign Figo or Roberto Carlos. But they will have to pay a great money for them.

MadridForever, your take on Ronaldo is 100% spot on.Ronaldo is the BEST striker in the world today,PERIOD!!To this day I don't understand why he does not get more respect in the futbol world.I always hear and read, yeah,he's a great player,BUT...Will someone please tell me why he does not get the respect he so rightfully has earned and deserves. It boggle's my mind why people diss' him all the time.

To say that Totti or Vieri could replace Ronaldo,is absolutely laughable to me.I get to see those two almost weekly on T.V in Toronto and in my mind, they are no where even near Ronnie in terms of the kind of skill, talent and excitement that Ronaldo brings to the game. The only striker out of the four you mentioned MadFor' that would look good in a Real jersey to me would be Henry. The man has a passion for scoring goals and let me tell you from what I have seen of him,he alone would be worth the price of admission in some cases. He is very, very good and I don't think he'd skip a beat coming to Real'.

Again though I say,I hope Ronnie ends his career with Real Madrid and wins many, many more trophies in the process.

I agree one hundred ten percent, Ronaldo is by far the best striker in the world. Every day it strikes me as a little odd that there isnt more coverage about this player, who might end up being the best player of the generation - him and Zizou, time will tell - and has scored 19 goals in 21 LaLiga matches! What a record - unequaled in any other top European league now.

Of Henry, Vieri, and Totti, only Vieri is a pure striker like Ronaldo, and Ronaldo is more of a skill and style striker than Vieri, who is more of a right-place, right-time, bang it as hard as you can striker like Inzaghi or Shearer. Henry is more of a forward, like a Raul, who can set up players as well as score. Totti is kinda like a mix between Raul and Zizou (in style, not quality). I would take Henry or Totti, right now preferring Totti, and I don't think we should even consider Vieri, who takes a ton of shots from everywhere on the pitch, is getting older, and isn't really scoring like any of the other 3.

Of course, RM can buy 5 players from Chelsea and become a better team with great players in every position. But I am getting to enjoy the Ronaldo-Zidane partner. It is unreal to see what they can do with the ball.... I doubt we have seen anything liked this in the history of the game and perhaps never will see anything liked this again. , we probably won't

It will be a sad day for football if Ronaldo leaves RM!!! Of cource, barcelona fans will think differently.

Ronaldo is not going anywhere. The Brazilian press has been reporting rumors that Perez wants to extend his contract by 2 years, that would practically have him retiring at Madrid. Which i think would be awesome. The only other place i see him moving too is back to Brazil when his contract runs out. He has stated that he wants to play a year in brazil before hanging his boots up. No Brazilian in his right mind will trade La liga for The Epl, just ask Ronaldinho gaucho. ;-)

Yes they would turn them down, wake up man !! There is no player at the moment worth replacing Ronaldo with. All the top world strikers are the same age or older. Yes even Henry. Henry is the same age as Ronaldo, so they will both retire pretty much at the same time. Totti will come but for Figo's place !

I believe Ronaldo is greater than Zidane simply because he is a more decisive player, a greater match-winner (WC '98 notwithstanding). I know it's unfair since a forward will always be more of an impact player than a midfielder but that's just the facts as I see it. When push comes to shove I know that the opposition would rather face Zidane than Ronaldo, even if Zidane is more complete as a footballer.

To me they are indisputably the greatest players of our generation, but Ronaldo just pips Zidane at the post

I'm no Madrid fan, but I'd love to see what the merengue would do with that kind of cash. The talent they'd add to that already amazing squad would be unreal.

Totti have said that he will play with Roma until 2006, when his contract ends. I think that the topic is over............until the next time that HIS MANAGER says that he has a "Galactic" offer.

It's very strange that a manager speaks to the media about offers to one of his players. Normally, they only speak to say that all the rumours are false, not to start the rumours!!!

At the same time, Valdano says the last week that would be great to have in the same team "Zidane and Totti". And few days later he says that Totti won't play in RM the next year. And Queiroz say that he prefers Henry or Van Nistelrooy.

I don't know, but i have a little feeling that someone or everyone is/are lying.

probably real madrid wanted to take totti, they were using the same tactic with ronaldo and beckam, making their players say how good they would fit in the team, how much fun they would find there , and all that stuff, but after sunday match of roma, totti probably decided to stay, that could be why Valdano , Florentino or whoever suddently changed their opinions.

Ronaldo is 100% without a doubt the most dangerous offensive player in the world right now. say what you want about Henry, who's skill i am not denying, but when it comes down to it, Ronnie is THE man. every time he touches the ball, it seems like he is going to score, and im sure all us Madrid fans have become spoiled by knowing that when a game starts, it is a pretty safe bet that he is going to put the ball in at least once. personally i cant imagine, where we'd be without him and it frightens me to even imagine that he would leave in the summer. he has many more great years in front of him, and i for one would like to see those years with Ronaldo in white.
