Canucks in Europe --- Sept 13/14 [R] In Germany, Julian De Guzman scored for Hannover 96 as they defeated Hertha Berlin 3-1. Stalteri played 90 minutes as Werder Bremen lost 2-1 to Dortmund. In England, Radzinski scored in the 67th minute for Everton as they tied Newcastle 2-2. More details about the other players later....
Hanover signed the Brazilian LB Kleber so DeGuzman played left wing yesterday. Scored a great winner with his weaker right. Stalteri is playing LB since they signed Davala.
The ratings for each player: Julian is the only one who got a 1, so the paer thinks he was the best! He was indeed, he played a great game!
This is an article about de Guzman from today after his great game. I won't translate everything, basically it's about the fact that he scored his first Bundesliga goal ever and that his parents Pauline and Bob are visiting him right now in Hannover and will attend Hannover's game against Mönchengladbach, hoping to see him win again.
In Austria, Ante Jazic went the full 90 for Rapid Vienna in a top-of-the-table clash against Graz AK. He cleared a ball off the line early and was solid otherwise in Rapid's 2-1 victory.
Thanks for the reports Hannover96Girl! Rumours have it that Julian will not play with the Canadian U23 Olympic team in qualifying. Julian will be needed for the WCQ and the CSA probably doesn't want to create a conflict with Hannover (calling him up for both teams).
More Canadian players abroad this past weekend... Daniel Imhoff played 90 minutes as St Gallen tied Young Boys 0-0 in Swiss league actoin. Pat Onstad played 90 minutes for San Jose and De Rosario came on in the 65th minute. San Jose lost 2-1 to DC United. Patrice Bernier played 90 minutes for Moss in the Norweigan 1st division. Moss defeated Raufoss 1-0. Atiba Hutchinson came on at the half for Osters as they tied Sundsvall 1-1 in the Swedish Premier divison.
