Was really fun watching the '92 Charity Shield. Interesting that I was just this past weekend talking about the shirt numbers with my son, and the fact that way back when, the starters were all numbered from 1 (keeper) to 11 based upon position. Question: Was there a rule that dictated that and when did it change? Or was it just tradition that changed with the advent of player's names on the back of the jersey?
