How can someone love God and support Trump at the same time?

 

If they love their country and don't want to see fellow Americans lose jobs to illegals.
Probably consider abortion murder, especially late term when pain is felt and beating heart exists.
Don't like the idea that their children can be given puberty blocking drugs without their consent, as the trend seems to be moving towards.

That's a bizarre claim that seems mostly fueled by hysteria. His son in law is Jewish and he's a big supporter of Israel, helping to move the embassy to Jerusalem. Hitler wouldn't have done any of that.

Given not one of those was true or common, and given his behavior violates most everything Jesus stood for or commanded, it remains that Christians voted for Trump in spite of their religion, not because of it. In other words, it is possible for actions and beliefs not to be congruent. So the orange Hitler-loving narcissistic rapist could both love/admire Hitler and still support Israel, especially if he saw personal benefit in supporting Israel.

 

Nobody, except JD Vance, said he was Hitler. You don't have to do everything Hitler did, or believe everything Hitler believed to still love or admire Hitler. You can actually admire Michael Collins without actually agreeing with him on every single point.

Point of correction: Ivana said he had a book of Hitler's speeches next to the bed. It was the orange idiot himself who said he had a copy of Mein Kampf.

But don't you see? You can't trust those comments that were mentioned 30 or so years apart because they both had personal vendettas against him and he is a habitual liar (so we can't trust his own words either). Just because there is a consistent pattern of behavior, and just because he actually used Hitler-esque quotes in similar contexts in the last few months, it proves that it is all just a coincidence.

It's possibly, and even probable, that rhetoric like this has moved many to vote republican. The hysteria and hyperbole you're presenting turned a lot of voters off. Hitler didn't like jews. Just saying.

How did I reinterpret it? Are you saying when it says foreigners must be treated as native-born residents, it means we should treat them differently?

You'll quickly see he didn't say anything about such topics because he was all about "love your neighbor as yourself" - no "unless they ...". But he certainly condemned people for lying, for deceiving, for bearing false witness, etc.

If that "moved" many to vote Republican, then it simply demonstrates that they are low information voters to begin with and do not have strength of their convictions. Because it was pointed out that he admires Hitler, had a copy of Mein Kampf and kept a book of his speeches by his nightstand, people couldn't help but vote for a convicted felon and sexual offender who is a known habitual liar and sociopathic narcissist. Think about that for a second. "That mean person called Trump a name based on factual evidence, I'm going to have to vote for a sociopathic narcissistic rapist who is a convicted felon now."

 

Vance was man enough to say he made a mistake. What's the problem? You take his word only when it supports your belief, but not when it does not? There's a definition for that. Confirmation bias.

Where am I stepping in? I said that those who aren't in favor of laws like that are more likely to vote republican. Where am I wrong? You said it wasn't happening and that I needed better news sources. Right there you can see it is.

How did I reinterpret the passage? That is what you accused me of, so you should address that specifically.

You'll also note that what immediately follows the comment about treating foreigners as if they were native-born is a more general overarching command that includes that specific command: "love them as yourself". I'm assuming your "Christian" enough to know that the latter was a central them to Jesus's instructions. As such, anyone who is not doing it is not following what Jesus taught. There's no "love them as yourself unless they are illegal immigrants".

 

Further to this, those that oppose abortion of a fetus that is alive consider it murder, how can they support the left then?

You're cherry picking the law. If you want to defer to Leviticus as the absolute source of Christian law, then I can probably cite another hundred you'll be upset about. Is that where we're going?
