It’s not like his ineptitude has ever stopped tens of millions of people from voting for him. Why would it bother them now, when the alternative is a woman of color?
Like deja vu. I'm ready for that feeling of knowing that nothing will be decided until at least the weekend, and yet thinking that if I keep searching the internet for just ten more minutes I will find something that will help me go to sleep more relaxed. Hopefully that won't happen this time.
The highest I can get on the positivity meter is Optimistic. I'm not not-confident, but for me confidence requires more statistical proof. But there's a lot of associated evidence, correlative stats pointing in a positive direction that I'm oddly not nervous about the result, even if I can't make myself feel confident. As I said earlier, if the result is the wrong one, I honestly cannot blame the Dems, Harris, Walz, the campaign strategists. They've run a wonderful, energetic and inspiring campaign. Not flawless, but that's not possible. Even so, I can't point to any truly serious missteps. If the country chooses Trump, then the blame is America's, and I guess the Constitution for saddling us with such a half-assed way of electing the president.
The biggest flaw was Biden running for a second term. If Trump wins, Biden’s going to have seriously undermined his legacy.
Maybe, but would the Dem nominee's campaign that emerged from a contested primary process have been as good as this one's been? No one got picked apart in the primaries. The entire party united behind Harris within a few days. Now, if Biden had bowed out a month or two earlier, that might have helped. But it is what it is, a highly unusual, but also highly effective and focused campaign.
I dunno. Most everything i saw Biden's gaffe referenced, the Puerto Rico as garbage line was also referenced. I think Biden kept Puerto Rico front and center longer.
Understandably though. Like people have to look at the district she represents. Not have knee jerk reactions.
Feeling fine. She is killing him with the women vote, and more women vote than men. I suppose he can get lucky with a winning battleground state combination, but this isn’t 2016 when more women were willing to give him a chance. They know what he is now, a slimy, decaying mess. Harris will take this.
I have a problem with this part - not with you, but with the way so many people abdicated their responsibility and put us in this position where we have to vote to save ourselves. The Electoral College was originally designed to prevent bad people from becoming President - they were supposed to use their God-given human judgement and free will and not vote for someone who was obviously unqualified, and they failed at this task in 2016. The role of the electors should be eliminated in the next Constitution if they're not going to do the one thing they were supposed to do. The Senate should have convicted him in both of his impeachment trials - they failed. The 14th Amendment clearly states that Trump is not eligible to be President, but the Supreme Court is bought and paid for. We shouldn't be here, but we are, because all of these groups failed to prevent this like they should have.
I’m phone banking in downtown San Francisco for Harris and for House candidates in marginal CA- districts. Apparently Pelosi supplied the pizza so there you go.
i agree mate. the country has been failed by its elites more than anyone. the whole system design was to stop this kind of populism. it instead the people with power decided to bend the knee.
My 30-something niece (by marriage), who is pregnant, just posted on Instagram that she had an abortion when she was 21, and it was the best decision she could have made at the time. She voted Kamala for her unborn daughter, etc... What a way to tell the world.
