I said before that the media loves a horse race, and will prop up Trump to make it look like there is one. But the one thing they love more is drama. This is drama and they will eat Trump alive to get more. I just wish it started a day or two ago.

I only saw about 0.2% of the interview, so I may be corrected on this, but it really seemed that Rogan was trying to help Trump as much as possible and guide him towards answers that his viewers would like and Trump wasn't having it.

 

Joe Rogan and his followers represent basic bitch men. They aren't smart and if you talk to them you can walk them through things and help them make sense and feel better about it. They're really dumb and insecure and lash out against anything they don't get that isn't super ignorant..
Rogan himself is such a malleable tool that if you go into the show to sell a topic (whatever topic it may be) Joe will do most of the selling himself… he gives folks plenty of time to articulate ideas as well and does minor pushback regardless of how blatant it is
He will watch a random video 10 mins before going on air then him and a guest will discuss the thing with minimal knowledge and act as subject matter experts.. its easily digestible

 

This is certainly part of why the pills are so dumb. The other is the pollsters are using AI models to simulate results.

AI is dumb as bricks and when you feed it garbage, you get garbage. When the results don't align with your preconceived notions, you edit the data until it does. So download data from Twitter, et al, on topics, feed it into a model with how you think people would respond, and if you get results you don't like, you massage the data until you do.

These people are the worst.

 

I don’t have a problem trying it out. I do have a problem using it as their reported results without plenty of testing and comparison with actual results.

 

I have a problem with it as a statistician. We are so far away from simulating human behavior in this manner. The Internet is hardly a reliable method to understand people's thoughts on current issues. We know that owners of social media manipulate what is shown and isn't and that can sway things a lot. It also means you end up with the loudest voices have the biggest impact, just like money does under Citizens.

If some tech bro wants to play with it in his villa, fine. But it should not be used to sway who is elected, what policies to enact, and what laws to pass. That's insane. You want AI to use data from Twitter to determine what policies should be enacted?
