Blue is also expanding in California. My county shifted to pretty solidly blue in the last 12 years. I'm even seeing gradual shifts in historically red places like Placer County.

Jon Ralston predicts that Kamala Harris will narrowly win Nevada.

“I have often predicted against my own preferences; history does not lie. I just have a feeling she will catch up here, but I also believe – and please remember this – it will not be clear who won on Election Night here, so block out the nattering nabobs of election denialism. It’s going to be very, very close.”

He also believes Sen. Jacky Rosen (D-NV) will win re-election comfortably.

To a degree but only to a degree. The small mountain towns were always blue, but they'd get swamped by the larger red foothill towns. Those foothill towns are now less and less red, tipping the balance.

In the afternoon on Election Day, 2016, I boldly predicted the following:

So I am not making a prediction today. As a Never Trump Republican I had hoped in 2021 he would go away and sulk, but here we are.

My hope is not only that Trump loses, he loses badly, and takes much of the GOP with it. Then we can purge Trumpism from the system and build a new center-right.

My fear is that enough of the left wing, Arab, and Muslim vote will stay home or vote for Stein that Trump wins Michigan and the presidency.

It's warranted. The holier-than-thou lefties are nothing but useful idiots for Trump.

Well it can’t be Melania, for constitutional reasons. Maybe you’re thinking he’ll dump Melania after the election, or more likely she dumps him.

You know that if there is any hint of her running that the Supremes will rule that the original intent of the founding fathers when citing a natural born citizen was to make sure that no one born by cesarean section could become president.

Sending Bill Clinton to sway them wasn't the smartest play to overcome that. Or to convince people that Trump would be worse and any vote other than Harris would get that.

Shouldn't it be Steve Cherundolo? He at least played at a decent level.

    Bah, choose better: Barça!!!

Also, its Cherundolo, with a bullet. He played at a higher level for longer than the others, he captained his club side for awhile, and he had as distinguished an international career as any USMNT defender.

It could be Girma, eventually. But she's gotta get out of the states, and head across the pond to absorb better coaching than she can get here.

This. He was the longest-serving Bundesliga player by the time injuries finally took him out.

And he captained his side for a good period of time as well.

    It's very possible, for sure.

But Trump then also has to carry all the swing states currently polling at literal ties, in addition to taking MI.

Oh, don't get too hot and bothered here.

The best coaching minds in the game aren't in residence in the US. Unless you (snicker) rate Andonovski?

Yeah, he was bought during a period of substandard recruitment for the club. Good player, but not Barça caliber.

Also, he didn't learn the game in the US, and thus wasn't produced here.

    Its Cherundolo, full stop.

Melania is clearly not happy with the whole thing. I don’t blame her. Her marriage to Trump seems like it was something of a transactional thing — he gets a hot exotic foreign model wife to keep up his reputation as a playboy and she gets money and prestige. She did not sign up for 12 (16) years of this.

There were rumors that Laura Loomer was preggers with Trump’s child and she was wife # 4. But I doubt it.

Ivanka clearly wants out of this. She has been mostly invisible for the past 4 years. She was a successful businesswoman, trading on the Trump name. Now that is gone.

Donald Junior and Eric are both idiots. Tiffany stays in the shadows.

The Trump supporters are trying to make Baron their new champion. But he is very young and I have yet to hear his voice.

Trumpism without Trump is nothing. It is very personal so while some may try to pick up the mantle, I doubt it will engender anywhere near the loyalty.

But the damage has been done.

I wonder where might the place of residence be for the person who won the 2024 Ballon d’Or for Women’s Coach of the Year?

Yet another own goal. Your soccer takes around here are bordering on infamous.
