Larry Krasner sending a clear warning to Trumpers....FAFO!!! https://www.threads.net/@mariselmor...QGzv7lCcyCre6U87ashTU0Y-jpjcuhUPM60209YGw1zjA
Scenes from Dorton Arena. That crowd literally could fit into my high school gym, which seated like 4000 for basketball. 1853489027250295017 is not a valid tweet id
I'm gonna say it's still dcu fans as the most prevalent. Let's test it out: Eddie Pope is not the best defender the US has ever produced. (And now, we wait.....)
@Athlone I was going to respond to the response you gave me, but most has been covered. What I will say is that you come across as old school Republican, smaller government, less regulation, lower taxes, etc. Who did you vote for in the Republican primary? The problem being being old-school Republican is it has been moved beyond. For most of us here, we have been discussing various aspect of society and politics, in here, since before you started voting. Many of us were discussing politics here before Obama took office. So we have seen the evolution of the Republican Party from one that puts out adverts like Willie Horton one in the late 1980s (Dukakis), to the Swift Boat lie in the mid 2000s (Kerry) to Joe Wilson saying "You Lie" to Obama at the SOTU (breaking massive protocol) to keeping Steve King in the House despite his blatant racism, to the current status of having Trump at the top of the party and people like MTGreen with their conspiracies and racism (and xenophobia and sexism and LGBTQ+phobia). While some of us would still abhor the Republican Party if it was like it was in the 1970s or 1980s or even the 1990s, many of us would at least tolerate it as a party that puts the US as a country first (even at the exclusion of some people within) rather than the party that has drifted to the far right and the policies of people like George Wallace. But even with all the hate rhetoric and fear mongering coming from Trump and many in leadership of the Republican party, the biggest issue I think most of us can't get over is that Trump is a convicted felon, found liable of fraud, and of sexual assault (and we are not even getting in to the documents case), and yet you still find him qualified to be President, let alone willing to vote for him. We can argue about policy day and night, but to believe the Trump is qualified to be President is beyond comprehension.
I just saw this post on Thread.....It resonates with me and is appropriate.... @Mohu I’m mostly off social media till tomorrow pm, but wanted to close out with a note of gratitude. Black women have upheld this republic with unmatched consistency & strength—even as this nation has failed them time and again. Their commitment isn’t one of naive optimism but of a patient, deep, resilient hope for a better, more just future despite it all. It’s time… it is, in fact, long PAST time, for the rest of us to support THEM. Tomorrow isn’t the game… but it is a needed first step.
Keep going... Think: played at a higher level, for longer than Pope, and played longer for his country as well. [As predicted, the dcu fans are still here, moreso than ARSEnal or other sides.]
My wife sent me a meme that showed "ACAB crowd voting for a prosecutor and the "Back the Blue" people voting for a convicted felon.
Boca or John Brooks?....None of them are better than Eddie Pope. If Eddie was playing today, he would be in the big leagues.
Arsenal? Not bad for a second division club from the suburbs of Buenos Aires. To be fair, this season they are in the fight to be promoted to the top level.
Keep going... (Although both Bocanegra and Brooks had/have better careers, at higher levels, for longer than Pope; and at least one of those two have more caps than Pope, and wore the captain's armband more than Pope, both for club and for country.)
Nope...I am done guessing. You tell me now...lol. For my money, Eddie Pope is the best defender this country ever produced. He was just born the wrong decade...
WOW..... 1853483943984550186 is not a valid tweet id The stench of death and decomposition on his campaign is rising. It's over. They know it.
I know that the obedient lackeys at your local newspaper, the WP are busy kowtowing like cowards to drumpf at the moment. However, for decades, they did fill the dcu fanbase with the narrative that a guy who never hit 100 caps, rarely captained his sides, and never played at a higher level than MLS 1.0 is "the best defender the US has produced," but thats homerism that betrays the truth. With apologies to Barlos Cocanegra, consider what was posted to bait you dcu types into replying: ..."Eddie Pope is not the best defender the US has ever produced." (HINT: fullbacks are also "defenders" in this game.)
We really need some old-fashioned racial categorizing to help put the Nikki Haleys of the world in their place. Prove five generations of Whiteness or you walk to the back of the store to get your chicken. She loses her husband and her place at the White folks' table and has to settle for marrying a brain surgeon or college proessor.
Personally, I'd choose Sauerbrunn. But I think Girma will be the best defender once her career is over.
Tim Miller with Anne Selzer Super interesting and likely real based off what she has been seeing in the congressional races. not sure if it means anything wider.
Luckily I can't read the article but the first few sentences tells me she's not waiting for Trump to lose to start running for the 2028 Republican presidential nomination.
