You beat me to it. I am writing a post and this is one of the arguments. He will need massive numbers from men while hoping that most women voting in EDay are bucking the current trend.

Obviously, we'll see. But a ground game isn't just about early voting, it's about voting, in general, registration drives, etc. The Dems have that. The GOP doesn't. While it may appear as though that effort has led to the Dems banking lots of early votes, there's no reason to believe that an enthusiastic Dem base won't also vote in large numbers tomorrow.

How early can we know which way PA is going? The good news is that polls close early in 5 out of 7 swing states, so if counting goes at a decent speed, we might have a very good idea of how the election is going by 10 p.m.

Thanks to a Republican-passed law, in PA early votes can't be counted until Election Day. I think Wisconsin has a similar law, but don't quote me on that one.

PA and WI could take a while:

    https://www.usatoday.com/story/news...lvania-wisconsin-ballot-counting/75812999007/

The difference, though, is that this is not 2020, when there were unusually large number of mail-in ballots that needed to be processed, starting on election day. I'm no expert, but I'd think those would have to be the most tedious votes to count. Early, in-person votes I would think could be tabulated fairly quickly. In any event, there won't be the red wave/election day followed by blue wave/mail in and early vote effect we saw in 2020.

Trump’s rally today is at Dorton Arena, which is notable for its unique architecture @The Devil's Architect . However, it’s a small venue. Like, when the Whalers came down here to become the Hurricanes, they played in Greensboro rather than here. The minor league hockey team that the Canes ran out of town played there.

It’s literally at the same compound that has the arena where NC State and the Canes play, but Trump didn’t go there. He went to Dorton.

Right, I was just laying out one possibility that’s pessimistic.

Yeah, California has become a one-party state. In the Bay Area, I would say there's a better chance of the Democrats splitting into two parties than of Republicans coming back.

I think we have to set aside early voting, what's done is done, and think instead of all the people who are not voting who could still be persuaded to vote.

Not all of us are used to being involved in campaigning, but we can put our two cents at a personal level, calling our unmotivated friends and relatives - we all have some - who may not vote simply because they are lazy or apathetic or hopeless procastinators who never get things done, and encourage them to do it. Maybe even offer to accompany them, etc.

I'm thinking we'll know based on some other states, including North Carolina and Iowa. If North Carolina goes to Kamala, then I will start to relax a little bit. If the Selzer poll is correct and Iowa goes for Kamala, then I will be popping the champagne because I just don't see Iowa going blue and Kamala still losing (I'm not saying I have data to support this, it's just my personal feeling). Oh, who am I kidding? By then I'd be on the second bottle of champagne because the first will be used to dull my senses in case things go horribly wrong.

This made me smile. I can see the meetings when Turning Point and others convinced Trump about their GOTV strategies. I'm sure they threw out words like being 'disrupters' and showed contempt for any former knowledge about how to do things with a whole undercurrent of grift sweeping things along. The Republicans don't need to burn books, they'd rather burn money.
