I don't see how he beats Trump, but future President DeSantis will probably happen.

Is this an accurate characterization of the guy he's referring to?

Writing in The Hill newspaper, Democratic pundit Juan Williams makes the case that Clinton should become a major figure on the campaign trail this year.

Though based on a quick skim, I don't think JW is calling for HRC to seek the nomination. Which makes Calizza look all the more stupid.

If Biden is a no go, who gets the nomination?

    Harris?

I don't see Harris winning the General election, shit, she probably could not win an open primary.

The constitutional native-born American 35 or over requirement severely limits our options.

And I think that is the challenge that Democrats have. While the Republicans have been refreshing their leadership with younger politicians, particularly in the House, the Democrats are still heavily reliant upon Boomers. I'm sure AOC will make a run, but there is no way she could win in a General election. I'm honestly not aware of anyone under 60 that would present a serious challenge to Harris or Biden...

The best thing for Biden would be if Trump loses the primary, claims fraud and then runs as an independent.

Running as an independent would be a lot of work and Trump just wants to stand in front of a crowd of people and talk.. I really don't see him putting in the effort to run as an independent.

There's a structural problem with the Dems; there's plenty of youth and new ideas at the precinct and local party level, but there's some weird firewall keeping those people and their ideas from working their way up the chain.

I think you mean, he could get others to pay other people to put in the effort.

Him paying for that would be too much effort.
He does not pay for anything himself.

Me too. Previously, it's been my go-to for news about reality TV and about celebrities with names like Brittany, Savannah, Dakota, and Charmayanne. But it's right up there with Politico for politics!
