In 2020, Biden won Puerto Ricans in Florida by 68% to 32%. Don’t know about the rest of the country. https://amp.miamiherald.com/news/politics-government/election/article247106087.html
Take a moment…do you think this level of outrage, this vocabulary, is warranted just because he thinks “9 rifles” is just a random thing that defies interpretation, and it’s just a chicken hawk taunt?
Last poll Harris was at 67% of Puerto Rico votes in FL. She gained 18th since. That is not bad at all.
Yeah, Trump’s ratio of cleverness divided by intelligence is as high as anyone I’ve ever heard of. Because the denominator is incredibly low, mostly.
My interpretation is that he had two thoughts at the same time and combined them. When The Joshua Tree came out, it dominated me and my friends. We had been waiting for the next U2 album, and it was a stunning achievement. There’s a song that goes I see 7 towers but I only see one way out. I asked my friend about it and he said 7 was just a number that a poet used. Dave, you’re too literal. Me, I figured it had to mean something. My friend came to me later because he’d read an article saying there was a housing project named that. Anyway, my point is Trump said 9 for some reason. Who knows, maybe he had just gotten an internal saying he was 9 points down. Me, I think he was shooting the shit with his inner circle and someone mused about putting his enemies in front of firing squads. And they started talking about them and someone chimed in that there’s always one blank so each person can believe they got the blank.
FWIW Liz Cheney said that former President George W. Bush needs to make his voice heard on the “danger that Donald Trump poses,” the Daily Beastreports. Said Cheney: “I can’t explain why George W. Bush hasn’t spoken out, but I think it’s time, and I wish that he would.”
Good interpretation but IMO you left out that Trump’s fragile ego means he’ll say whatever is needed to get praise in the moment. He was talking to Tucker. Ergo….
As for the comment Trump made, look, it's the kind of comment that if a everyman said it, the police would be called. I can't believe people are trying to argue the extent of this.
Betting markets were incredibly juiced, but Trump has come down 7 points in the last 72 hours on Polymarket
Breaking the rules but Detroit again. You thought 3,000 early votes per day was a lot? Detroit nearly hit 5,000 with four days left till Election Day. pic.twitter.com/dLAitwwpE6— Malachi Barrett (@PolarBarrett) November 1, 2024
Quite a closing message!!! Trump on RFK Jr.: “He’s going to take care of women's health and your children’s health” pic.twitter.com/DYMjWXVuJl— Kamala HQ (@KamalaHQ) November 1, 2024
What victimhood? I stated a matter of fact - everyone clearly understands how each side feels about the other, so comments revealing said feelings really won't move the needle. The only one crying about victims is you. What is even there to be victimized by? You and a few posters here not liking me? That whole premise of your response presupposes that I would derive any value from removing that. Think about it from a perspective you can understand better (your own): Do you care what I, or anyone else who might support Trump, may think of you? Does my/their opinion of you impact you in any meaningful way, shape or form? Do you value their evaluation of you in any way? Your answer is clearly no on all three counts. That feeling is mutual. And at this point, most people who have seen the last 8 years of American politics and maintained any amount of support for Trump (knowing full well how polarizing he is and how many people will look at them for maintaining said support) have come to the same conclusion on this, and care no more about what other people think than you do (they'd change their support and/or never voice that support if they did). That's precisely why the Biden comments are and will remain irrelevant, just like Hillary's in 2016 and the other examples since then. This is a lot of projection made up out of thin air. You're getting very worked up over an innocuous observation about a pretty obvious reality re: Biden's comments (an observation that, btw, doesn't even cut against your side - the idea that the Biden comments don't matter is a plus for Harris, it's not even a pro-Trump take you're overreacting to). You can project as many unfounded conclusions about me as you like, but I'm not the one being irrational here.
Just saw this…it supports the notion that firing squads are in his head somewhere 1852220945630384469 is not a valid tweet id
Agreed. Tackle the ball, not the man. There are other trollturds that need to be tackled directly, IMO. Exactly. This court has shown no interest in any sort of limitation to the 2A, whatsoever. So I dont know what Athlone is on about when he states, "we can ban tanks." I think it would take for one of the supremes or their family members to become a statistic, before they would do anything against the 2A. And I state that, even as I hope neither they, nor anyone else, would have to suffer such an outcome.
On PredictIt, they've straight up moved into a tie https://www.predictit.org/markets/detail/7456/Who-will-win-the-2024-US-presidential-election Still got a weekend to get through but the last winds of the election to seem to be behind Kamala. Hope it's enough
I mean, his vice president endorsed Harris. With Dick Cheney on board, what more coverage do you need?
Hypothetical for future philosophy majors…was it a good thing, or a bad thing, that nobody in Congress was killed? Then once the juniors and seniors hash that out, ok, for those who think it was a good thing Romney wasn’t killed, as it a good thing he wasn’t seriously injured? The idea being that Jan 6 has been bizarrely memory holed for what it really was, and so how many eggs are worth the omelet? On January 6, no one was safe, neither was our democracy. On the latest episode of the LP podcast you can hear the story from @SemperWry, a Capitol police officer on that day. I am sorry but I definitely can’t be as generous and magnanimous as some here. As I said multiple times here, I am will to give a pass to a Trump voter in 2016, but in this year of the Lord 2024, not a chance. This year, voting for a this racist psychopath who is an open menace not only to humanity, but to people who look like me, women, minorities etc is a bridge too far for me. There is too much at stake. I am not going to fall for any hoodwink, or some pseudo intellectual veneer, trying to bamboozle people and cover their complicity in this absolute madness. To use Biden immortal worlds, those people are garbage.
I am not implying that conservatives are blameless. When I lived in Texas for a couple of years during the pandemic, I got to interact with a lot of very committed ideological conservatives. I learned very quickly just how little regard they have for people they consider "liberals" (I was one of these). Conservatives will complain about not feeling welcome in liberal spaces, but the truth is that this is a two way street, and they can be just as guilty in their own spaces of the behavior they complain about. Like I said, the cake has been baked on both sides. The right has already decided how they feel about the left, and vice versa. That's over now. A failure to express enough in the way of warm fuzzies to the other side isn't going to move the needle for anyone at this point. Because the 2nd Amendment right isn't unlimited, and courts (before and after Trump) do not interpret it that way. I disagree that courts have seen no limits on the 2A, they have set out clear guidelines before. The Heller ruling, which put an end to the legality of handgun bans (bans which Kamala vigorously advocated for) offered a pretty clear layout of the Court's legal philosophy. https://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/html/07-290.ZS.html A bioweapon is a type of weapon that is at once dangerous and pretty unusual, as is an M1 Abrams. That's why the tank doesn't work. An AR-15 is in a very different category, as is a handgun or a rifle. There's no legal reason to expect the 2A protection to apply to Tanks and Rocket Launchers, even under a more conservative court.
