They will still vote for him.

Trump: I will use you for my benefit and pawn off all the costs on you.
MAGA: Yeah, you really got us good! You are so clever.

That's a pretty decent for the Democrats. Toss up for president, but Ted Cruz also in a toss up? One can dream.

Something I took from Plouffe, Longwell etc is that it is very hard to poll this election because it is very unclear at what rates the low propensity voters will turn out compared to '20

For instance, in '20 it was already obvious Trump had damaged his vote share with suburban women (the first demo to leave). Instead of addressing that e.g with a savvy VP pick, he has doubled down, and is chasing low propensity males under 30. But they are by definition hard to turn out.

By contrast, Dems continue to make inroads with Romney republicans, and those people vote, but how many are there?

Then there is Kamala's evident enthusiasm amongst women/young voters (see registrations).

So the coalitions are now quite different to '16

Plouffe thinks Trumps vote share will be 48% which is higher than '20

That’s what the New York Times says so it must be true.

Im mostly making a joke, but that line is something Republicans are going to try out as a talking point. Whatever. They’re under no obligation to be fair and balanced.

But the Times has just adopted that talking point hook, line, and sinker. And that’s why if God willing Harris wins, Democrats need to really focus on working the refs. It moves votes, but it also impacts grass roots energy.

So you want to see a poll about how people are reading polls? Why?

How about we do a poll on who people think will win the poll on who will win? That would be awesome too.

This...100%. With the active support of the Elon/X and the far right media apparatus. The scarier part is that the MSM is basically silent about this since they want to stay "neutral".

Trump Is Running a Disinformation Campaign

David Corn: “The rough and tumble of American politics often includes false statements and lies—what once was called spin. Unfortunately, there has always been a degree of tolerance for campaign dissembling. Trump is no stranger to this mundane practice. He freely tosses falsehoods at the electorate. The economy when he was president was the best ever. He did a great job on Covid. The current rate of inflation is the worst in US history. The US has provided more aid to Ukraine than Europe. Every Democrat and legal scholar wanted Roe v. Wade overturned. He was the smartest and most accomplished president the country has ever seen. And so on. It’s absurd braggadocio and a firehose of supposed but untrue facts—spewed to a degree far beyond what previous presidential candidates attempted to get away with.”

“Yet Trump’s dishonesty goes further than the usual campaign lying. He concocts and promotes utterly false narratives to shape voters’ perceptions of fundamental realities. His campaign is a full-fledged project to pervert how Americans view the nation and the world, an extensive propaganda campaign designed to fire up fears and intensify anxieties that Trump can then exploit to collect votes. And the political media world has yet to come to terms with the fact that Trump is heading a disinformation crusade more likely to be found in an authoritarian state than a vibrant democracy.”

“This is unlike other presidential campaigns in modern American history—other than his own previous efforts.”

So... They should have refused to take them to the event in the first place... I'm sorry, but saying "F**k you" after the people were already there was kind of a jerk move by the bus company.

    Dude, quit posting unsubstantiated stories.

    https://www.sgvtribune.com/2024/10/...les-from-their-cars-after-speech-reports-say/

Officer David Torres, a California Highway Patrol spokesperson, said via email that “there were no incidents in this area that CHP handled.”

“There became an issue with the drivers being over hours due to the traffic delays that prevented them from driving, leaving (the sheriff’s department) to transport the visitors themselves,” Torres said, noting that the California Department of Transportation limits the number of hours bus drivers can be on the road.

The highway patrol did not make contact with any drivers, Torres added.

“The Riverside County Sheriff Department advised CHP the bus drivers were over hours and asked if CHP could approve for them to work over their hours to transport individuals back to the pick-up point,” he said.

The CHP told sheriff’s authorities it couldn’t approve bus drivers “to violate any federal or state laws, pertaining to driving hours,” Torres wrote.

So given the state of the annoying orange.. how far into his monarchy will we be before he croaks and we get the pleasure of President Vance? 10 months?

It would honestly be the perfect punishment for the entire nation and political apparatus… dipshit that nobody likes (maybe 15% if that) gets to run the show

“Just a former president suggesting he’ll use the military against his fellow citizens for exercising their freedom of speech. Nothing to worry about, folks. Seriously, when is he gonna grow that little mustache already? Because there’s only three weeks left!”

Several times actually. I found their editing to be very annoying as they would often ask her a question, have her start answering the question, and then switch to a voice over summarizing her answer. You can certainly draw whatever conclusions you want from that, but its also 60 minutes style to do that and its annoying every time they do it. I wish they'd just let us hear the person's answers whenever they interview someone.
