Actually, I am hoping that will happen. Hopefully, the campaign is coordinating something in that regard. I think Milley may be much more open to that than the likes of Mitt, Kelly or Mathis.

 

NYTimes has an interesting article on the role Musk has been playing in getting Trump elected. From spending tens of millions via his SuperPAC on voter outreach, to using the heightened outreach that Twitter's algorithm gives his account to push pro-Trump narratives, to outright censoring of tweets that include negative information about Trump.

And it’s hard to believe any poll with Fabrizio’s name on it is non-partisan, as he is the Trump campaign’s internal pollster.

Not to mention Emerson may not be a partisan pollster, but their results have leaned right since at least 2020.

 

I understand the concerns about GOP aligned polls and how they should be taken with a grain of salt, having said that the tightening of the race is a cause for concern.

 

As I always say, panic now and beat the rush!

I also read a post from an organizer saying Dems in Florida are getting envelopes with cash from republican women. Encouraging if true.

 

How is that encouraging?

 

Maybe there are more voters that we can get than we thought we could. And maybe the Florida dems are not so useless.

Given the global warming issue with Florida I've got a question.
If Florida because of global warming is reduced to let's say 50% of it's current size, but people move away to other states in such numbers, the state is reduced to let's suppose 1/3 of it's current population....does that have any effect on Florida's contribution to the senate etc. or the voting for the president?

 

Senate, no. Every state gets 2 senators regardless of population.

Presidential voting, yes. The number of electoral votes a state gets is equal to its number of members of Congress (2 senators + however many representatives), and representatives are allocated by state based on the census, which is taken every 10 years. Each state gets about 1 representative per 760,000 residents right now. Florida currently has 28 representatives, so it gets 30 electoral votes.

If the population were a third of what it currently is, they'd get about 10 representatives using the current rep to population ratio, so they would have 12 electoral votes.
