The problem as I understand it though, is that a Maine legislative retaliation can’t take effect until 90 days have passed, unless it passes with a 2/3rds majority, and the Dems don’t have the votes for that. So even if Maine acts today, it’s already too late. The Dems may have to win that congressional district. A recent UNH poll did have Harris ahead there by about five points.


People have been warning about this for months, that Nebraska might pull this last minute trick, but it was ignored.

As scary as the political environment is and has been recently, there’s a pretty good chance this is just the calm before the storm.

But if you want the optimistic take…if there are say 3 polls in 4 days and they all have Harris up 7-8 points, that’s when the media turn into vultures, circling a herd of sick animals, waiting to pick them off as they drop. And it ain’t like there’s a chance in hell Team Trump won’t turn in each other and make it worse.

 

Media needs excitement. A horse race is easy work and easy to sell, but if you can't have that drama is good too.
